(Kael’s POV)

Alaric’s chamber was dim, the windows slightly cracked to let in the summer night air. The scent of lavender oil and polished cedarwood filled the room, gentle and grounding. I stood in front of the mirror, drowsy, warm from the shower Alaric had practically dragged me into the moment we returned from Grandma’s chambers.

“You’re hovering,” I muttered, watching his reflection over my shoulder.

He was right behind me, close enough that I could feel the steady rise and fall of his chest at my back. His hands were wrapped around my waist as he adjusted the soft squishy sleepwear he insisted I wear tonight. Something light blue, overly plush, too soft for anyone’s good. It made me feel like a walking marshmallow.

“I’m not hovering. I’m ensuring my Omega’s comfort,” he said in that low Alpha voice of his—deep, teasing, and so serious at the same time it annoyed me.

“Your Omega,” I echoed under my breath, just to feel how the words sat on my tongue. I wasn’t sure if I liked how

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    SOMETHING IN THE AIR

If Alaric had a silver coin for every fake smile in this room, he’d have enough to buy an island—and move Kael there permanently.“Straight face. No scowling,” he muttered to himself as he stepped into the glittering ballroom. It was ridiculous, really—an event crafted entirely for performance. The chandelier sparkled too much. The flowers were over-scented. The noblewomen were practically glowing with powdered cheeks and high expectations. And his wife—Amora—stood at the center like a perfectly polished dagger. The nobles rose, murmurs rippling like soft rain.“There he is!”“The Crowned Alpha Prince of Veridia.”“Finally...”Alaric kept his stride even, hands behind his back, his ceremonial coat slightly looser than usual because Kael had tugged at the buttons earlier that evening and insisted he dress “not like he’s about to wrestle politics.” Gods, Kael. Just the thought of him curled on their bed, round belly rising and falling, made Alaric’s jaw unclench. He bowed slightly to th

Alaric’s office was cloaked in warm midday light, sunlight spilling over the long polished desk where scrolls lay open and stacked. The prince had been working all morning, his brow furrowed over policy drafts and estate balances, quill in hand, focus unwavering—until Kael started pouting.“You’re ignoring me,” Kael murmured from where he lounged on the velvet chaise near the window, one arm wrapped around a pillow, his face pressed halfway into it.“I’m running a kingdom, love,” Alaric said without looking up, though a ghost of a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “I’ll give you my full attention when I finish this line.”“You said that three lines ago.”Alaric chuckled, finally placing the quill down. He turned to face Kael fully, eyes warm and voice teasing. “You’re impossible.”Kael sat up slowly, his palm gliding down to rest on his still-flat stomach. “I’m pregnant. I’m allowed to be clingy.”“Say that again.” Alaric stood and crossed the room, stopping in front of him.Ka

The light of the morning sun filtered into the room in golden rays, lighting inches of the edge of the duvet twisted around Kael’s legs. His eyelashes fluttered, eyebrows furrowing as he shifted on the pillow, the first thing he noticed being the wetness in the corners of his eyes.He reached up and rubbed at them lazily.“…Why do I feel like I cried all night?” he mumbled groggily, voice rough from sleep. But he hadn’t. Not a tear had fallen the night before—Alaric had made sure of that, whispering dreams into his skin until sleep claimed him.Still, Kael’s eyes were puffy, rimmed slightly pink as if he’d been mourning something in his dreams. A deep, endless ache that had no name. Then it hit him. Sharp, sudden, cruel. He sat up so fast the world tilted.“Gods—” He lurched out of bed, one hand over his mouth and the other bracing himself against the nearby dresser. Alaric stirred behind him, but Kael was already gone, racing into the bathroom where he dropped to his knees just in ti

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    THINGS THE HEART WON'T SAY

The palace was quiet when they returned, the moon casting a soft silver glow over the stones as their footsteps echoed in the grand corridor. Kael leaned slightly against Alaric, exhaustion dulling the edges of his usual composure. Aaron walked silently behind them, his hands tucked into his coat pockets, eyes lingering on Kael's back every few seconds like he was memorizing something precious.Alaric’s jaw was tense. He hadn’t spoken a word since Kael clutched his stomach during the ride back. The casual teasing, the shameless possessiveness—it had all faded into quiet protectiveness now.As soon as they stepped through the main hall, Alaric didn’t give anyone a chance to ask questions. He guided Kael toward Grandma’s chambers with single-minded focus, Aaron following close behind without being told.Inside the old healer’s sanctuary, the air was thick with calming herbs and soft candlelight. Grandma didn’t waste time. She ushered Kael to the padded seat near her workstation and gent

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    BETWEEN TWO ALPHAS

(Kael’s POV)I don’t think I’ve ever been this… watched. Not in the public sense—being stared at is just part of being a royal staff, unfortunately. I mean this kind of watch; Like I’m a ticking time bomb made of glass and moonlight. Like if I breathe too deep, both Alphas will drop to their knees and beg the goddess to grant them mercy.Alaric is the worst offender. Or… the most obvious one. After the whole "get out and let me dress him" order he flung at Aaron, I was too stunned to argue. Aaron didn’t, either. Just gave a low whistle and smirked his way out the door, probably plotting murder in his mind. And then it was just me and Alaric in my chambers again. He didn’t say much. Just stepped toward the wardrobe like he owned the place—which, in fairness, he kind of does by now—and pulled out a casual summer dress. Flowy. Soft. Very… pink. With little white bows on the sleeves.“Seriously?” I asked, brows raised.Alaric didn’t even blink. “You look soft in this.”“You want me soft?”
