CHAPTER 5

“Mia,Josh are you in there?” I hear mom ask outside my door making me open my eyes and Josh immediately removes his hand from my face before standing up from the bed.

“Yes mom we are.” I reply and gulp down nothing as i look at Josh. Mom opens the door and walks in with a worried look on her face.

“Don’t worry mom,i’ve agreed.”

“What? Are you serious? OMG Josh you’re the best.” Mom literally squeals and hugs Josh,kissing him on the forehead.

“Oh my gosh. Mom!” I facepalm myself,forcing myself not to laugh at her behaviour.

“Mia thank you so much for listening to Josh. I love you, i love you both.”. Mom says and hugs us both before happily walking out of the room.

“Your mom is really something.” Josh chuckles.

“I know right.” I chuckle as well.

We both stop chuckling and Josh stares at me so intently that i feel like there’s something on my face.

“Is th..” I get interrupted by the buzzing of my phone.

I pick it off the bed and stare at it to see my best friend Lily calling. I then look up at Josh and he nervously scratches his head.

“I’ll leave now.” He says and leaves without waiting for my response. I sigh and then proceed to pick up the call.

“Mia!” Lily yells so loudly i think my ears are literally bleeding right now.

“What have i done now?”

“You totally forgot to check up on me. Is it because you have a new family and probably a new bestf…”

“No babe,you’re very wrong. I don’t have a new best friend and i mostly especially have not forgotten about you.” I interrupt.

“So how has things been with your new family? How are you coping with them?” She inquires.

“Well Max is trying his best to impress me and i do appreciate his effort.” I inform her.

“Awwn how sweet.” She replies giggling making me roll my eyes. “Does he have any children? Like do you have siblings now?”

Oh right! I had completely told her about how my mom married Max and informed me after the deed had been done but i completely forgot to inform her about my super hot stepbrother whom i keep falling for daily.

“Umm earth to Mia.” Lily brings back my attention.

“Oh uhh yeah, i have a new brother.” I cringe immediately after saying that.

“Oh my goodness!” Lily squeals. “ Is he hot? I bet he is. Can i see his pic please?” She begs making me quite angry,she’s already falling in love with someone she hasn’t seen.

“No,he’s very ugly and not your type. I won’t send his pic, don’t talk about him again.” I reply,my voice laced with jealousy.

“Is someone jealous?” She teases. “Wait..don’t tell me you’re falling for him.” She states.

Oh no…no no no..how did she figure that out? Am i that obvious?

“Your silence means i’m telling the truth.” She giggles again.

“No! You’re lying.”

“ Mmm no i’m not lying you…” I try denying but she interrupts me.

“Have you guys gotten intimate yet?” She asks making my eyes widen in shock.

“Lily!” I yell. “What the fuck? Why would you ask that?”

“What? You guys haven’t gotten intimate? Not even a kiss?” I facepalm myself.

“Can you stop this Lily. Please.” I beg.

“No i can’t darling. You can’t be living with such a hottie and not get intimate with him.

“Didn’t i tell you that he’s ugly.”

“His pictures said otherwise.” She replies confidently.

“What are you…” She interrupts my question.

“Internet baby. I found it on the internet.” She replies and i mouth an ‘Oh’

“If i were to be in your position, we would have had something sexual on the first day.”

“Oh my gosh Lily!” I facepalm myself again. May i be reminded why i’m still listening to her nonsense.

“You remember that cloth i gave you two weeks ago. The blue top and red skirt..that, you remember it right…right?” I remain silent to know where she’s headed with this question. “Of course you won’t answer. Anyways, i’m thinking you should wear it and head straight to his room he’ll definitely not be able to resist you. He’ll definitely get turned on,pull you by the waist and kiss you. You’ll strike then, touch him in all the right places and then you two will have that….”

“Umm the network is terrible,i’ll call you later.” I make up an excuse and cut the call immediately.

Okay what the fuck! Was she actually teaching me how to seduce Josh. Did she forget that he’s my stepbrother or did she get lost in his hotness. But what did i really expect,she’s been my friend for so long and i know this is what she’ll do,that’s why i didn’t tell her about Josh in the first place.

I fall on my bed and close my eyes recalling my conversation with Lily,the last conversation playing repeatedly.

“I can’t possibly do it,he’ll think of me as a slut.” I sigh and rub my temples. Lily is truly crazy.

I rub my eyes as i walk downstairs,it’s night time and the last thing i can remember is Lily calling me in the evening to apologise about the nonesense she said and how she forgot that Josh is family.

I carefully walk down the stairs and walk up to the three seater chair,settling down comfortably on it.

“Look who’s up.” I hear a familiar voice,the same one that always makes me weak in the knees.

I look backwards and see a handsome Josh dressed in a plain black shirt and blue jeans trouser,his hair a little messy and his lips as pink and lucious as always.

“Hey Josh.” I finally find the right words. “Where’s mom and Max?”

“Went on a date,probably be back tomorrow.” He replies and i nod.

“You going somewhere?” I question.

“Yeah,going out with some friends. Will you be fine all alone or will you join me?”

“I like the second option better.” I smile widely and he does so too. I guess my smile is contagious.

“Okay go get dressed,i’ll wait for you.” He says, his eyes lighting up at each word.
