Lucille’s POV

“This way,”

I nodded with a smile as I trailed behind him. Every corner we turned made me more alert with dozens of guards stationed at each corridor.

“Welcome, Miss Lucille,” Josephine said, gesturing for the seat across from her.

I took a seat as she continued. “You know I miss Britain. Work hasn’t exactly allowed me visit but this resort has one of the best teas, you should try it,” she said.

She raised her hand and a server came, placing two tea cups before us then filled it. “Try it,” Josephine urged.

“Thank you but I’ll decline,” I said.

“You always refuse anything I give you, that’s unfair,” she said then took a sip of her tea, nodding. “Perfect.”

“You said you had something for me,” I said, cutting to the chase.

“You’re always in such a hurry, Miss Lucille. Do I make you that uncomfortable.”

I said nothing because it was the truth.
