LOGINEVA'S POV
“I will travel with you.” I texted. When I sent that text message, my brain was completely shut down. I wasn't thinking about anything or anyone or most importantly, the consequences of what my actions would lead to but I just typed and sent it. There was a little part of me that wanted to see what this little adventure of mine would lead to and that part of me was ready to dance to the tone of any music being played. “Good choice…where are you??” He wrote back. “I am in a taxi going back home from a friend's house.” “Tell the taxi to turn around and meet me up at the location I am about to send to you.” He wrote. “But what about clothes, shoes….I haven't packed yet.” “Don't worry about that…it will be sorted.” “Well, okay.” A few seconds later, he sent the address. “Mr, can you please take me to this location as soon as possible??” I asked the taxi driver as I showed him the location sent by Clark. “Of course ma'am.” He said. About twenty minutes later, he arrived there and the place looked like a resort. I paid the driver and climbed down from the car as I admired the resort. I couldn't believe that such a beautiful place was in the same city I lived in and I had no idea about it. “I have arrived.” I texted Clark. “I have seen you….come inside, the receptionist will direct you to where I am.” I wondered what he meant by he had seen me until I saw the CCTV camera looking right at me. I walked in and saw the receptionist. “Good Day ma'am, Mr Anderson is waiting for you over there.” She said as she pointed her hand towards a pool area. “Thank you.” I said as I walked to the place I was directed to. My eyes then met Clark's as he was sitting in a lounge and it looked like he was on the phone as well. When I got to where he was sitting, he directed me to sit down as he continued his phone call. He was on the phone for a few minutes and while on the phone, he stole quick glances at me. I used the opportunity to admire him more and I didn’t know he spoke a little bit of Italian and he looked more sexy as he spoke. He hung up the phone and dropped it on the table. “Pleasant day to you sister in law.” he said with a smirk. “Cut it with the sister in law Clark…my name is Eva.” I said, rolling my eyes. “Someone seems to be pissed…anyway I think I will stick with sister in law because it is more professional. “Professional my ass.” I said in almost a whisper. “Did you say something??” “No…why are we still here?? Aren’t we going to Peru again???” “Hmm be patient sister in law…we are still here because of them.” he said. “Who??” I said. I turned my head backwards and saw two beautifully dressed ladies walking towards me with what looked like a rack of clothes. “Wait, are those for me???” I asked. “You asked for clothes didn’t you??” “How did you manage to make arrangements in such short notice??” “Well, you need not worry yourself about that.” “Good day to you Boss…is she the one???” “Yes she is.” “Hello ma’am…can you please come with us for some fittings??” “Good day…of course.” I said smiling as I went with them. Almost all the clothes fitted perfectly and there were some of them that looked so exposed and sexy that would make any man turn his head and look twice at me. After everything, they put the clothes and shoes in a luggage and took it away. “So, hope you liked them??” Clark asked. “Liked?? I loved all of them…thank you so much.” “You are welcome….anyway, it’s time to go now.” he said as he stood up. I followed him without saying a word into a car and we drove off to the airport. When we got there, I remembered I didn’t bring a passport or anything. “Clark, I don’t think I can come with you.” I said. “Why?? Change your mind??” “I didn't bring my passport.” I said in almost a whisper. “It’s fine…I don’t think you need a passport.” “Why???” I asked in confusion. I suddenly got my answers when I saw the plane that the plane we were about to enter had his name boldly written on it. “Clark, is this yours??” I asked. “Obviously.” he said as he chuckled. “How rich are you??” I asked in amazement. “Rich enough….let’s go in.” he said with a smile. We walked into the plane and it looked amazing in this. Most times when I use flights, it’s business class but what I saw inside Clark’s plane was nothing like I have ever seen before. When we were settled, one of the female flight attendants came. “Champagne??” she asked. “No…I just want water thank you.” I said. She nodded her head and asked Clark the same question. “Yes, a glass please.” he said. I noticed she had this weird smile on her face and she looked at Clark with a kind of seductive eyes. “Right away sir.” she said as she swayed her hips away. I rolled my eyes and sighed deeply. “What is the problem sister in law??” “Problem?? What problem??” I asked. “I saw the way you rolled your eyes at my flight attendant.” “Me?? I didn’t do anything like that.” I said. “Are you sure?? Because I saw you.” he said. He was definitely pushing it. “Look, you are getting married to my sister and that too very soon so I wouldn’t sit back and watch you flirting or other ladies flirting with you.” “Are you worried about your sister or are you worried about yourself??” he asked. “W..what do you mean by that??? Am worried about my sister of course.” I said as I scoffed. Clark suddenly stood up from his seat, locked the entrance door to which the flight attendants can gain access to us and then came in front of me and bent down as I looked down at him in shock. “I ask again, are you really worried about your sister, or are you worried about you Eva??”CLARK’S POVThe room felt too small after Rachel’s words.Eva is engaged.I sat there, staring at my desk, my eyes unfocused. The broken pen lay between my fingers, ink slowly staining my skin, but I barely noticed. What made me more angry was the fact that she was extremely excited about the news which she just shared.Rachel was still standing in front of me, watching my face like she was waiting for permission to breathe.“Clark?” she called softly. “Did you hear me?”I looked up at her...as a matter of fact, I glared at her.She was still smiling….that polite, practiced smile she always wore in public. The one that said everything is fine, even when it clearly wasn’t.“You said Eva is engaged,” I replied slowly.“Yes,” she nodded. “Daniel proposed…Isn’t that… good news?”Good news.I stood up abruptly, my chair scraping loudly against the floor as Rachel flinched."Rachel??" "Yes baby." “Why are you still here?” I asked. Her brows furrowed. “I came to talk to you….About the
CLARK’S POVThe first thing I felt was anger. Not the loud kind but the quiet one that sits in your chest and burns slowly.Eva’s face kept replaying in my head as I walked out of the restaurant… the shock, the restraint, the disappointment. She didn’t yell, she didn’t cry as she simply chose herself. That hurt more than the water she poured on me and to be honest, I really didn't know what came over me.Seeing her together with that sorry excuse of a man she called her boyfriend made me extremely jealous and furious.I didn’t know where I was going when I stepped into the night. My phone buzzed several times…Rachel, my assistant, even my driver but I ignored all of it.Immediately Eva walked out of the restaurant, Rachel started her usual tantrums and I was definitely not in the mood for that and so I just got up and walked away. I walked until my legs hurt even when I knew very well I had a car and then I saw a bar.The sign flickered like it had lived a hard life, and something
EVA’S POVThe click of the bathroom lock echoed louder than it should have.I turned slowly, my heart pounding as Clark leaned against the door like he owned the space and maybe, in that moment, he did.He didn’t rush me.That was the dangerous part. His eyes travelled over me slowly, lazily, like he had all the time in the world. The corner of his lips lifted in a faint smile. The least I expected to enter the bathroom with me was Clark.…a female bathroom as a matter of fact was Clark.“What are you doing here Clark?? Get out!!!" "Why should I??”"Because first this is a female bathroom?? Are you a pervert??!!”"Oh trust me if I was a pervert you would know.”“Clark, what are you fucking doing here??!! Get out!!!" “So,” he said calmly, breaking the silence.“That’s the kind of man you choose now?”I folded my arms. “Open the door, Clark.”He chuckled softly. “You didn’t answer my question.”“Because it doesn’t deserve an answer.”He straightened and took a step toward me. “Dani
EVA’S POV"You are out of your damn mind!!”My heart was still racing when Clark said those words.“I am not Eva…I know what I want and I don’t want to marry Rachel anymore.”I stared at him like he had just spoken in another language. As much as I cared more than I should for Clark, there were some certain things that were never meant to be or happen as much as I badly wanted it.“Clark… no,” I said immediately, shaking my head. “You can’t say that.”He stepped closer. “I just did.”I took a step back. “You shouldn’t even be here saying this to me……you are to get married soon..what are you saying???.”“I had to.” he replied. “I’m tired of pretending.”“That doesn’t change anything,” I said firmly. “In fact, it makes everything worse.”He frowned. “Why?”“Because I finally realized how serious this is ” I said. “Your mother invited Rachel…That alone tells me this is bigger than feelings.”“My mother invited her but you came along!! And besides she doesn’t even like Rachel,” he
EVA'S POVI thought I was dreaming. That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw him on his knees in front of me.Daniel.My ex-boyfriend.The same man who once promised me forever and then disappeared from my life like I meant nothing. The same man who blocked me on every social media platform, ignored my calls, and pretended I never existed after breaking my heart.I blinked once.Twice.He was still there.“Eva,” he said, his voice breaking. “I still love you.”My heart pounded violently against my chest. For a brief second, I truly believed I had finally lost my mind. Maybe exhaustion had finally caught up with me or maybe loneliness had decided to play tricks on my heart. But when he reached out and held my hand, I knew this was real.I pulled my hand away immediately and suddenly burst into laughter.I was so sure that at that moment, I looked like a maniac laughing like that.“Why are you laughing Eva??? Are you that excited to see me??" “No,” I said sharply. “
CLARK’S POVThe trip ended quietly.Too quietly. No scandals..No headlines and no pictures.Just the kind of silence that follows chaos when everything looks calm on the outside, but something underneath is already cracked. As soon as we landed back home, I felt the weight return to my chest. Work waited, the wedding waited, Life waited. And Rachel followed. She didn’t even ask.I noticed her car behind mine the moment I left the airport. At first, I told myself it was a coincidence but by the third turn, I knew it wasn’t.When I finally pulled into my house and stepped out, she was already getting out of her car, arms folded, lips pressed tight.“What are you doing here, Rachel?” I asked, keeping my voice low.“I followed you,” she said plainly, like it was nothing.“That much is obvious.”She frowned. “Why are you talking to me like that?”“Because you had no business following me to a business trip.” I said sharply. “And you have no business following me home unannounced.”Her
