Two months after breaking up with Baxter I can say I have my life back. I got an apartment only six blocks away from work. It's a small yet cozy place for someone like me. I've tried my best to distance myself from Andre. I don't want him to know how hurt I have been in my relationship. It was my first and for now, I think it will be my last.

My healing process included calling my brother and mother more often. During the relationship, I never really talked to them. I know my mother would have been hurt but she understood that I didn't express myself much with words and she wasn't with me to know if I was ok or not, not until I tell her, and I don't want her to worry.
