I tried to control my shaking hands while I was sitting quietly on the ground, far from him. He’s standing in front of the window while both of his hands are behind his back, giving the appearance of a royal palace guard.
No, that’s an understated description. With his good-looking face, lean physique, and tall height, not to mention his unusual clothing, you could actually mistake him as a prince. A prince waiting for his princess? And who’s his princess, you Fajra?
I chuckled, dumbfounded. If this is all a dream, I can’t wait to wake up and laugh at myself. I must’ve gone crazy. Really.
"So, you m-mean… I am a princess?"
From eyeing the moon outside, he turned his head in my direction. He nodded once, with the same serious look on his face.
I chuckled again. He just stared at me with his unreadable expression. I turned serious when he looked at the moon again. I can’t believe that there’s no trace of a wound left on his face. I saw it with my own eyes; it healed on its own and his eyes even gleamed.
"I thought the moon would look different in this world," I heard him utter seriously.
I stared at him disgustingly. "Why? Where the hell is that world? Are you somehow involved with aliens or something? "
"I have no idea what you’re trying to say. But don’t worry, once I’m back I’ll look into it. "
My jaw dropped due to how ridiculous he sounded. He uttered those words like he was really serious or something.
"This guy’s insane," I whispered.
He spoke. "After what you saw, I have a hunch that you’re slowly giving in."
Oh shit, he heard me.
"You still don’t believe me." I heard him utter it.
"Who the hell would believe you? I grew up here. Here in this small house, together with my father and my mother, Zari-"
He cut off my words. "Lady Zariya, of course."
I stopped. His words surprised me. I watch him with my amused eyes. He’s walking around the house scanning things as if they were foreign to him.
"You don’t seem to live in nobility here. The queen chose this world on purpose, huh."
I couldn’t utter words. I’m just out of words and thoughts. All I did was listen to his ridiculous statements.
"How about your friends? You befriended everyone in Zunumbra."
"Do I look friendly to you?" I asked with a disgusted tone.
He turned his head in my direction and the side of his lips rose.
"That’s my peace," he said before looking at the moon again.
What the fvck? I grabbed my hair and tried to wake up myself, but nothing seemed to work out."You are not dreaming. No pain would wake you up because this is your reality. Soon, you’ll have no choice but to believe me. "
I bit my lip and glared at him. I freaking hate this guy. His words and his tone are so insulting that he’s getting on my nerves.
"I badly want to wrap my palm around your neck until you choke to death." I uttered it with so much anger.
He just glanced at me and shook his head, like he was somewhat disappointed. My expression changed from shocked to offended. Pluto would run for his life if he heard that. This man? He just looked at me like I was crazy or something.
I slowly stood up. I wasn’t able to think straight anymore. I ran in his direction, and I was about to jump on him so I could strangle him or do anything to hurt him, but in a gasp, he vanished.
"Ha! W-where..."
I stood in front of the window. He’s gone? What sorcery does he have that he’s able to vanish just like that?
"Ugh!" I groaned and grabbed my hair. I hurt myself. "Fvck, wake up Fajra. Wake up." I shut my eyes tight and tried to wake up.
My body froze when I felt pressure behind me. My breath hitched.
"Give in, Fajra. What more should I do for you to believe me?" He whispered. I felt his breath on my nape.
"Your mother, Zariya, died a long time ago. She’s the one leading your nation, Amare. The heart and the peace of the kingdom of Zunumbra. "
Tears clouded my eyes while my eyes fixated on the moon. Even in other worlds, I was left alone.
"No," I said, with so much conviction. "My mother died last year. And she’s not a leader. She’s sick and bedridden. What the hell are you talking about?"
"I know. I know." he whispered softly.
He put his hands on the window just beside my hands that were on the stool, somehow jailing me. Now I can feel his presence on my back.
"Your nation has been locked up ever since the death of your mother. And they are waiting for you, years and years of waiting, and they’re still hoping for you. "
Tears poured into my cheeks. I shook my head lightly.
"I am not a princess," I uttered.
"Yes you are," he whispered.
I shut my eyes and more tears poured down.
"Queen Arcadia, outcast you before the day of your legal age." I could sense his hidden rage when he said that.
"Queen?"
"Yes. She’s the queen of the kingdom of Zunumbra. She took your life before the day of your legal age. Until now, no one knows why she chose to send your soul to this world instead of ending your life in Zunumbra, " he explained.
My forehead furrowed. "And why the hell would she do that?"
"Because you’re destined to take her throne."
"What?" I exclaimed and turned my body toward him.
I saw his eyes flinch a bit, like he wasn’t looking forward to that.
"So she’s threatened?"
He cocked his head to the side. "Maybe."
"And how were you able to know about my destiny when I don’t even know mine?" I raised a brow.
"Because I’m with you from the very start." He uttered, almost a whisper.
I blinked.
"It’s not just me, Fajra. The whole kingdom knows it. Because of the continuous chaos reigning in the kingdom caused by the locked up nation of Amare, every foreteller, astronomer, name it, is looking after you.""What is Amare?" I asked.
"Your nation."
"My nation?" I echoed.
He nodded. "Yes. Amare is the heart and peace of Zunumbra. Its constituents are capable of a power that balances the chaos of the nations. "
"Chaos?" I stared at him, looking up to him. His arms are still on my side, locking me in.
His adams moved again. He removed his eyes from me swiftly before he spoke again.
"There are three nations existing in the kingdom of Zunumbra. Zeraphina, the underworld. Orioch, the uncontrolled nation, and lastly, Amare. I don’t know how this world you’re in works, but those nations are led by the Queen’s sisters. And the queen is the one that’s capable of all. "
"You mean she’s the most powerful?"
"Yes," he said, touching the strands of my hair and tucking it behind my ears.
I didn’t speak. I tried to process his words. And when I was finally able to realize it, a laugh escaped from my lips. I giggled and touched my lips so no giggles would escape. I shook my head while still trying not to laugh.
"You almost convinced me."
I felt him stiffen. When I looked back up at him, I saw how his expression hardened.
"You don’t believe me," he stated.
"I mean, you are good at making up stories, but... you need to try more." I shrugged.
His brows met. He let out a ball of breath before he leaned over to me. My eyes widened. I stepped back and leant to the window so that our bodies would not touch.
"I am not making this up." he said, with so much conviction in each word.
I was quite shaken by his presence, but of course, the strong and feisty Fajra wouldn’t show that side of her.
"Then what about you? Hades, right? Are you some sort of a god in your world? Just like in Greek Mythology or something? "
His lips parted. From being an intimidating human being, he looked like a complete idiot again. I bit my lip to stop myself from smiling. I don’t know why that look on his face satisfies me.
"Your words are foreign to me," he said sincerely.
I nodded and bowed my head so that he wouldn’t see me smiling. I felt his fingers on my chin and I stopped. He brought my chin back up and again, I was entranced.
"But if you’re referring to my existence, I am nobody. Just a nobody," he spoke.
"Did your nation choose you to get me?"
He pressed his lips. It took him a while before he shook his head lightly.
"Then why are you here? How were you able to get here?" I whispered, just enough for him to hear.
His thumb caressed my cheeks softly. His eyes are almost hypnotizing me. I am definitely going to wake up as soon as I escalate this situation.
"I am here because of a promise," he said.
I blinked once, slowly; his touch is almost putting me to sleep.
"A promise?" I couldn’t recognize my voice.
"Yes," he whispered. I felt his warm breath on my cheek.
"I’m an alpha. I knocked on each door to fulfill that promise."
My heartbeats became wild. I’ve heard those words before. But looking at his eyes right now, I couldn’t use my head to think properly. All I know is that I’m enchanted.
Damn. Did I just cross the world of an alpha?
He was quite as he seat in front of me. Two mugs are in front of us. No one dared to talk. Any time now, the sun will be up already.I couldn't believe this. Last night I was dealing with my loss, and now a man claiming to be a wolf is in front of me. I don't know if it was because of sadness that I let him stay here with me, or because I was afraid of what he showed me. But no matter what, it's good that he's here to entertain me from the sadness I’m feeling. With my doubtful eyes, I reached for my hot chocolate and sip into it quietly. I simply stared at his face while covering my eyes with glasses because I still couldn't believe how there was no trace of a wound left on his skin.I saw it with my own eyes, how his skin opened earlier and how the blood flowed there. But after his eyes brightened, I saw how his wound gradually disappeared.I can not believe it. I can't blame myself because it's really hard to believe. And of all the things he said? I don't understand anything."Won
"Are you some spy or something?" I asked him a little aggressively. He opened his mouth and was about to say something but I intervened."No, that's ridiculous. We're not even suitable to be an asset to this country. What the hell am I thinking?” I talked to myself. I grabbed a handful of my hair before I face him again."I'm so sure it was you. You had a slip of the tongue already."He looked down on me. I have an average height but his height is still intimidating compared to mine.”Alright. There's no point in lying. Yes, I am the one who knocked on your door each of your birthdays which you only got to notice on your thirteenth birthday. Am I right?”I blinked thinking about it. I'm not sure but, yeah, I didn't notice it until I was removed from innocence.”But how in the hell were you that consistent for straight seventeen years? How old are you huh?”I asked more because what surprised me was that he looked so young. I think around twenty-four? I don't know."That's not importan
I did not expect my sleep to be that peaceful. I didn’t even had a dream. That sleep was so peaceful that I couldn't believe it's possible to have that kind of rest. When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was the rose next to my bed. I fell asleep crying with the memory of Pluto. In an instant the lethargy returned to my system.I slowly put the rose in the place where the sun hits it. I know these flowers need to be put in water but I don't have the willpower to do that. Its petals will also dry up until it dies completely. So I didn't see the reason of doing it at all.And one more thing, it's not from Pluto either. I don't know where that man got this flower from, I also don't know what his reason was. As long as I just leave it here until it withers.I got up and looked at the clock. It's almost noon but I can still feel the cold coming in from the window. I didn't even lit the fireplace to warm the house. I'm such a complete mess right now. I don't see the point of doing al
I walked quietly. I distracted myself by thinking about things. The road is not dark because the moon serves as light on my way. I counted how many trees, how many cars passed by. I tried to fight the feeling that I was going to lose my mind.I stopped several times, and several times I also heard his steps stop. I didn't say anything to him until I got home. I closed the door heavily and finally saw his eyes looking at me seriously."It's up to him. If he freeze to death, it's not my fault." I said to myself.I lit the fireplace. I warmed up with hot chocolate and that was all I had in my stomach. After that I decided to rest and lay on the bed but the rose that was on the bed caught my attention. It has not yet withered. Its petals are still blooming and it looks like it was freshly picked. I can't help but think about Pluto. I can't help but wonder if what my life could have been is he's still here. He will definitely not let me be sad. He won't let me cry. He won't leave me alone.
I know that even though I'm skeptical about his antics. Still, I had to thank him."Thank you for that," I uttered.I was sitting on the bed while he was leaning against the window, looking out at the round, bright moon."For this, and for what happened earlier."I was referring to the rose I was holding and what happened earlier. He didn't reply and just looked at me intently as he always does. I really couldn't help but be amazed at how his eyes could speak. Anyone can be carried away by his gaze."Who are those people?" he asked.I sighed and looked at the flower."Bad guys," I briefly said.I don't want to explain anymore because I think I will just waste time."And do they bother you often like that?"I sensed a hint of seriousness in his tone. I glanced at him, he didn't even flinch at my stare. I shook my head lightly as an answer."It seems they have something else in mind for you," he whispered as if he said it only to himself.I smirked without humor. "Don't worry. I can pro
Werewolf — I typed at the search bar."Fajra, you're still not done with that?" My co-worker asked me.I smiled raw and shook my head. I only used the existing computer here in our manager's office. I spent almost my entire lunch break researching the questions I needed answers to.Are werewolves real? What do werewolves do? Where did they come from? The things I read are foreign to me and I can’t seem to understand the results of my reading. Even though I understand it, it still does not meet my level of understanding.Werewolves aren't real. That's one of the hundred results that says the same. I nodded while agreeing with what was read."Right, who the hell in the world would believe that?" I whispered to myself. This issue only became a trend because of the movies that were released and mixed with some other catch for people to watch and believe. Some results are saying that werewolves came from the stories of people acting a bit different than usual, different in a way of bein
"Fajra," I heard him call me with a tone of defiance.I was too focused choosing clothes from the rack and putting them in front of him. I chose a simple shirt on him slightly tilting my head looking if it fits him.”This one's cool. White shirt fits you.” I said and removed the shirt from the hanger but he grabbed my wrist to stop me."Stop," he said.I sighed heavily and pouted. He has been stopping me from shopping for clothes for him. I was able to buy him pants first, so now I'm choosing his top. "At least buy that." I slapped the shirt on his chest so he couldn't do anything but hold it.He followed me to the counter. I quickly took out money and signaled the woman not to put the clothes in the paper bag."Don't look at me like that. I'm telling you, you have to change clothes. You attract so many people with that outfit. Halloween is still far ahead.” I rolled my eyes. His lips were in a grim line. "I don't care what other people say."I sighed harshly. “Just change. I'll wait
I was dumbfounded while looking at the scenario when we got home. From a distance, I can see how they take our stuff out of our house. I dropped the plastic bag I’m holding, which contained the stuff that we bought, and quickly ran."W-what is this?"I stammered a question to the man standing there. He didn't answer me and focused only on the paper in his hand. I turned to see another man coming out our door with the rest of our stuff."H-hey!" I screamed. "What are you doing?"I was confused and walking back and forth. Hades even passed through my eyes with the plastic I'd left earlier. He also seems to have no idea what is going on."Please don't do this." I pleaded with the man I first talked to.He looked at me without emotion and handed me the paper. I had no idea what was written on it."You need to go to the bank to settle this."My tears flowed, and I didn't know what to do. They didn't seem to listen to my plea."No, please. I have money."The bundle of money was scattered bec
