Hades

I chuckled without any humor. I pushed the door close with so much strength to make a statement.

"Be gone! You freak! " I shouted. I was about to turn my back, but to my surprise, the door creaked slowly and opened.

The man in his twenties appeared again in front of my door, standing while his dark eyes fixated on me. I hate how he looked so mysterious and good-looking.

"What the fvck?" I whispered. "How..." I couldn’t continue my words.

I admit, he scared me a bit. But I didn’t let that get into me. I slammed the door again and locked the knob and even the double lock. My shaking hands calmed down when I had locked it all up. To the tiny drums of my heart, I leaned against the door and, to my horror, I saw the man inside our house standing.

My eyes widened. My body shook me into mobility. I was scared, but I couldn’t scream. I grabbed the lamp from the hallway and threw it at him, but he just cocked his head quickly while taking a few steps towards me to close the gap.

Running I had the chance to pick up the bat that’s resting somewhere. When our gaps met, I tried to batter him with it. He’s strong. With just one hand, he grabbed the bat and threw it somewhere.

For the sake of my survival, I did everything to get back. Funny how I was hoping to vanish a while ago from losing hope, yet now I’m fighting for my damn life. Our adrenaline brought us to our kitchen. I threw everything I could to distract him so he would not come near me.

Even in the dark, I saw how his eyes were intently staring at me. All of my distractions towards him are nothing because his motives are so clear.

Damn, how will I escape this weirdo?

"Who the fvck are you?" Panting, I said.

"You know me, Fajra."

I don’t know why I sensed a hint of pain in his tone.

"I said I don’t fvcking know you!" I screamed, and the wind blew again.

The bright moonlight passed through the windows, and that tiny source of light provided a great view of his eyes. I don’t know if it’s just dark, but I saw hurt and sadness in his eyes.

I heard his shoes clacking. "I am not here to fight with you. I am not the villain here, Fajra. "

My shaking hands groped my behind, looking for the important weapon I could use right now.

"Villain? Are you a damn hero in a sick children's story? Don’t make me laugh, mister. Of course, you’re not a villain because you’re a fvcking criminal. "

He didn’t say anything.

My mouth did all the talking to buy more time, and when he was a few steps away from me, I finally felt it in my hands. I grabbed it firmly.

"Don’t you dare come near me." I warned him.

He didn’t listen to me. I don’t want to hurt anybody, but if he’s this persistent, then I don’t have a fvcking choice.

I threw the mug at the ceiling lightbulb because I was too scared to carry out my first plan. It swiftly blew up, and as it struck the floor, fire clusters began. Neither did he move. I seized the opportunity to flee in order to hang from the window, but his moves are swift. Although I felt him grip my arm, I moved quickly as well.

I swung out my other hand right away, and I could tell he wasn't looking forward to that. When I made that 180-degree spin, I felt the knife slash his face, but he also emerged victorious. He was pained by me, but he was able to hold me tightly.

He pressed me against the wall while panting, and his eyes were wide. From that position, I could see how the cut I had made was causing blood to trickle across his cheeks. The moonlight made it possible to see his face clearly. It's so obvious to me now. Brown eyes, a square jaw, and thick brows, straight from the magazines, like a living sculpture.

He spoke as though he were speaking alone to himself when he said, "Perfect. That's what you're supposed to be."

I grinned. "It appears that I surprised you, huh?"

His jaw continuously clinched. "No, absolutely not."

My face was touched by his warm breath. My countenance darkened. I was irritated by anything about his comments or tone.

"Let go of me," I said.

His hold on me grew tighter as he refused to comply with my request. The knife is aimed at my neck, but I have the nerve to act disrespectful when, in reality, he only needs to slit my neck to end my life.

That makes sense to me now that I've given it some thought. My body was weakened. I instantly recall what took place today. I felt his grip on me slowly ebb away. Sensations awoke me.

"Why did you let go of me?" I asked, slightly angry.

His brows met; he looked confused.

"Why did you let go of me? You've had the chance already! Go ahead and slash my neck! " I screamed and even tried to reach for his arms.

His expression hardened. He threw the knife at the window, and I sneered when he did that.

"Nothing had changed. You’re still a fool for making such decisions. " He turned his back and faced the fire that I had caused a while ago.

I looked at him, dumbfounded. "Why didn’t you do it? Why!?"

His big shoulders were shifting from side to side. The last time he knocked on my door, he was an intimidating and composed oddball; this time, he looked jittery for the first time.

"You should’ve killed me! Why didn’t you do it!? "

"You are supposed to fight back, Fajra! Why are you so indifferent to your life!? Fvcking fight for your damn life! " His voice roared when he faced me.

My lips parted. I wasn’t able to respond. The blood on his face was dripping and all I did was watch.

"So that was it? After years of waiting for this day to come, and here you are telling me to kill you? To end your life? How many times should you die for our path to finally cross again, Fajra? Tell me! "

My eyes blinked. I was stunned. He hand-raked his hair and palmed his face in frustration. Silence reigned on us as we both stared at the blazing fire inside the house. Both are not caring about how the fire is slowly eating the whole house and, soon, us as well.

"No. This is not the reason for my visit, "I heard him whisper something with a frustrated tone.

He faced me again. This time his face showed desperation and a slight hint of conviction.

"You have to come with me. The whole kingdom is in chaos and your people are waiting for you. "

"I don’t know what the fvck you’re talking about." I said without any emotion.

"Of course, you don’t. But you have to trust me. " He pursued me.

"And how would I trust a man who trespassed into my house and pointed a knife at my neck?" I mocked him.

His expression hardened again. He looked like he was running out of patience.

"I am the one who’s hurt here. Don’t put all the blame on me. And weren’t you the one who threw things at me, tried to hurt me and even asked me to kill you? " He fought back.

I gritted my teeth.

"Who the hell would believe your words? What the hell are you? Did you just get out of mental rehab? Are you shooting a movie or something? What? " I asked, dumbfounded.

"I told you. You just have to trust me," he said, with a different tone.

I shook my head without any emotion. I thought I had already gone crazy. It seems like somebody had it tough, huh?

"I’m sorry for your loss. But you have to come with me as soon as possible. "

That made me lift my gaze to him. I glared at him, and this time I just lost the tiniest bit of faith I had in him.

"And what do you know about Pluto? Did you kill him? Were you the one who caused their car accident? " I stood and walked in his direction.

"Speak!" I grabbed his collar. He didn’t even flinch. He just looked down on me.

"I am he," he uttered.

I clenched my teeth so badly that I almost heard screeching. I shut my eyes tight before I harshly let go of him. Right. This man is out of his mind. Why did I even expect a word from him.

 --

"I will never buy your sick fvcking story. So get out of here and let me grieve peacefully, " I said with a tired tone.

The bulk in his throat moved up and down. I was about to let go of him, but the look in his eyes caught me. Why do I feel like his eyes tell lots of stories even by just staring at me? His eyes seem to speak to me and hold a lot of history.

"I am Hades. The reason for my existence and perish is you, so I will never leave without you. "

That’s what he said before my eyes widened a fraction by watching how his eyes lit up in a fiery hue of red and orange as the wound on his cheeks slowly faded away. No trace of the wound was left behind.
