Chapter 1

Jamie

“We can't be doing this,” I panted, my eyes rolling back into my skull as Ash used his sinful mouth to drop wet kiss all over my body.

Sinking my fingers into his hair, I let them slide through the soft strands while I groaned into the empty room.

“We can if you'll be quiet,” Ash smirked, moving up my body to stare into my eyes.

Once again, I'm struck by how gorgeous he was. Blonde hair, blue eyes and cheekbones that I would give my left nut for.

The amazing thing is… he's all mine.

Asher Blackstone is my team's leading defenseman. He transferred six months ago to this university, his past and talent making him easily known.

We met once and the attraction was instant.

I fought against it initially because we're so different, but it seems that heart wants what the heart wants.

“You know with you, I can't be.” I bite down on my lower lip, knowing it drives him crazy whenever I do that.

On cue, he growled, slipping his fingers under my shirt and down into my pants. “Jamie, you're driving me crazy here.” He groaned low in his throat before slamming his lips down on my mine.

As always, sparks flew whenever our lips connected, and I was always amazed at how perfectly they fit against mine, those soft lips of his unlocking some part of me.

Heat bubbled up in my veins, and I desperately needed his skin on mine.

Pushing him away, I grabbed the edges of his shirt and yanked it over his head.

His six-pack abs gleamed against the fluorescent bulbs overhead, making my mouth water with desire.

“Like what you see?” He teased, flexing his muscles.

“Oh, baby… I don't just like it…” I dipped down to pick the side of his stomach. “I love it!”

To show him how much I did, I went down to my knees, carefully placing my palms on his thighs to support my weight.

Popping open the first button on Ash's jeans, I tugged on the zipper, my breathing coming out in choppy pants.

Even though I was okay with Ash pushing the boundaries of what I was comfortable with, it seemed that I wasn't yet ready for this next step.

Ash, always intuitive, picked up on my feelings before I did.

Those strong arms slid under my armpits to pull me up, stopping to place me against the metal bars of the locker.

“Hey, we don't have to do anything you don't want, okay?” Ash murmured, cupping my jaw as he stared into my eyes. “I told you, just being with you is okay for me.”

“Are you sure?” I blew out a nervous breath, suddenly feeling inadequate.

“Yes.” He murmurs, kissing me softly on the lips to drive home his point. “Very sure.”

The kiss was about to get hot and heavy once again, but a loud clanging sounded to the left, followed by the sound of voices that had us jerking apart.

I raised panicked eyes to his, wondering what the hell to do.

In public, Asher and I were enemies, ones who can't stand each other, so it'd be weird if we were seen together alone.

“What do we do?” I hissed, my heart racing for several reasons.

One, it's not public news that I'm into him.

Second, if this gets out, my father would kill us both.

“I'll leave first; you go into the shower and stay there for a few minutes,” Ash tells me, dropping a quick kiss on my lips. “I'll see you tomorrow?”

“Yeah.” I watched him hurry out the door while I double back to the shower, closing the curtains just when I heard footsteps in my direction.

   

My heart was beating so fast, the excitement sending a thrill racing down my spine.

After a few minutes, I grabbed a towel and stepped out.

“Hey, guys…” I nodded to my teammates, Gary and Grey, before rounding the corner, ditching the towel and stepping out of the locker room.

I searched around for Ash but he was nowhere to be found.

“Dammit!” I grumbled, sliding my phone out of my pocket to call him.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance as someone crashed into me, sending my phone crashing to the pavement.

“Hey, baby!” Kylie, the leader of the cheerleading squad squealed in my ear as she jumped into my arms, wrapping her arms around my neck.

Oh, crap.

“Kylie, I-” I didn't get the chance to speak as she drop tiny kisses all over my face, making my cheeks turned red in discomfort.

“I missed you soo much!” She cooed, running her fingers through my hair in what should seem caring and loving but only irritated me.

“Kylie, you need to stop.” I hissed, pushing her hands away. “I already told you this isn't working.”

“How can you say that?” She pouted, her big blue eyes going wide with sadness. “I love you, Jamie!”

I pulled away… or tried to but it was impossible with her claw hands wrapped around my body. “Kylie, stop, I-”

She ignored my protests, slamming her lips down on mine.

My eyes fluttered closed involuntarily, and I let out a muffled grunt in surprise but she didn't let up, kissing me even deeper.

Reacting, I opened my eyes in a bid to push her away but then, my gaze clashed with someone else standing a few metres away.

My entire body went cold when I saw who it was.

Ash.
