I have been resting in her bed for hours, thinking about tomorrow when I’ll be joining school again.
It will be so awkward being known as the Queen bee now. I am a popular cheerleader and she is just someone who is known among the boys.
Sleeping in her bed and in her nighty was the most uncomfortable I had ever been. Firstly, she had tons of alarms set to wake her up in the morning, and right after I had opened my eyes and kicked the alarm clocks off, I met another mess.
“Does she ever charge her phone?” I groaned when looking around for the charger. Showering and dressing up that day seemed like a Barbie dress-up game to me.
I went through her closet but couldn’t find anything Serena would wear for school.
It was a colossal mess in her room and in my mind. Just the thought of walking out of this room and then seeing Serena and Daxon was causing my stomach to churn. I wonder how many times they have done it last night?
“No! stop thinking about that and focus on cleaning after her mess. I must get my body back before she gets me pregnant or something.” I bit my tongue when the words sounded ridiculous coming out of my mouth.
“I am not Serena!” I let out a sigh and realized why I wasn’t able to do the simplest tasks, “For time being, I have to accept I am Arlene,” After I have decided to not resist and stop keep referring to myself as Serena, it wasn’t that hard to pick a dress for the day.
I was no longer searching for something that Serena would wear. I wore a black skirt on a red top and curled my hair and, just like that; I was done.
“All set to go.” I passed myself one last glance in the mirror and then grabbed my bag to leave for the breakfast table.
Everybody had arrived, but my eyes were noticing the two empty spots where Serena and Daxon were supposed to be at.
“Where are those two?” I didn’t even realize asking such an innocent question will drop glares my way.
“Thanks to you, my son and his mate didn’t get to enjoy their first night.” Lady Garcia took the lead to take a shot at me. Daxon’s family was going to be staying over for a few days before they part and they leave behind Daxon, as he is the new alpha now.
Frowning at her words, I wanted to ask her to elaborate, but the negative vibes I was getting from everyone didn’t let me.
I kept getting lost between the two names and that’s when I decided I will just call myself Arlene for now so that I can pay attention to the others.
I couldn’t sit with them and feast as they kept scoffing and rolling their eyes at my every move. It was hard to be Arlene, and she alone was responsible for it.
She had messed up everyone’s life. She would accuse everyone of something awful and would then sit back and watch them suffer the consequences.
“I am off to school,” announcing my departure brought no change to anybody’s focus on their food. They didn’t bother looking my way or wishing goodbye to me.
I rushed out of the mansion with a waffle in my hand and my bag’s strap slipping off my shoulder. I had to take a bus to travel since Arlene wasn’t allowed to use the Royal vehicles due to her messing up and always getting in trouble. The moment I reached school, I knew something was wrong. My steps receded when I spotted Daxon and Serena together.
Why wasn’t she at home? Daxon and I had planned to take some days off as our marriage gift. Seeing them at school was a shocker.
So this is where they decided to have a conversation?
“In the school’s parking lot, seriously?” I screeched to myself when realizing what Serena was trying to do. She was airing our business out to the others.
“I don’t get it. Why won’t you let me mark you?” I overheard Daxon complaining to her.
She didn’t let him mark her?
“And then you canceled our honeymoon to come to school? What is going on with you Serena?” Daxon’s voice held so much sadness when wanting a genuine response from her and she kept rolling her eyes at him.
This is not how I would act around him. I respect him with all my might. She was making me look bad in his eyes.
“Daxon! I came to school so that I can escape all these questions. If you are going to bother me here too, then I will just leave,” the tone she used shocked me. She can’t be insulting him in the school’s parking? What was she doing?
I was trying to get closer without getting caught when a honk from behind me startled me into jumping to the side.
A reckless driver drove past me to take his place just beside Daxon’s car.
“Slug!” A comment made me grunt and turn around to see a few girls walking by and laughing at me. The guy coming out of the car was the Alpha King Of the Iron Fur’s pack; Reynard Wizard. He was a hybrid, part werewolf, and a part wizard, but his parents had stopped practicing magic a long time ago.
His brown long hair was touching his neck and his Nordic eye color was breathtaking. The black jeans and black shirt were complimenting his beauty a lot. I have never had an encounter with him before, but now that I was having a hard time, I was bumping into everyone.
He was known to be extremely rude and dismissive. He would cause trouble and not even blink an eye at others’ sufferings.
“You are not supposed to block the way. Next time I see you in my way, I will run you over.” he came toward me with such aggression that I couldn’t even respond to him.
Maybe it was the fact that nobody has ever raised their voice at me before that played a role in me staying frozen?
I got dragged back to reality when my phone started going crazy in my pocket. I stared at the screen for a moment because the name that popped up was someone’s name that I didn’t expect her to have.
“Mitt Pan?” I almost let out a gasp in shock. Mitt was our school’s drug dealer. He was an ex-warrior from the Iron Furs Pack and had managed to get admission here, but he was a mess and usually, the ones with great status would ignore him.
“Why do you have his number?” I muttered in exhaustion. I didn’t answer his calls but decided to go through his messages because he kept blowing up my phone.
My D: I got a surprise for you.
Firstly, why would she save his number than My D? secondly, what surprise?
My D: Ah! Seems like you are still avoiding me.
My D: I will be straightforward with you. Either you do as I said or I will leak what I have on you.
My heart skipped a beat, reading the threats he was making to me.
Me: What do you have on me?
I looked around to spot him somewhere, but he wasn’t around for now.
My D: Just send me what I want and I will delete those things.
I pushed the fear down my throat and wrote another message to the one I would have never talked to if I was in my body.
Me: What do you want?
It was then his message shook the world from under my feet.
My D: Your nudes!
“Shit!” I cursed, watching the text conversation time and again and letting out sighs of disbelief.“What have you been doing in your life?” I muttered under my breath, bewildered by the choices my sister had made in her life. Now it made sense. She wanted me to help clear out this mess for her.“I need to go and speak to my sister. She needs to tell me why she relied on drugs and what kind of information she has left with her drug dealer for him to blackmail her?” I was muttering under my breath and heading towards the bathroom while unaware of the judgmental stares thrown my way.It wasn’t until I heard a comment that I shook myself awake to my surroundings.“Did you hear what she did on her sister’s wedding day?”The wrinkle between my eyebrows suggested it intrigued me to hear what they knew.“She tried to ruin the day for her by yelling something like, oh I should be there, I’m the bride,”The other girl mimicked me back from the wedding day.I precisely remember yelling I’m the
They found Serena on the floor after she tumbled down the stairs and hurt herself in passing out. Since she couldn’t transition on the school’s ground, she couldn’t heal immediately. Not that she could transition ever, but still, if she could, she wouldn’t. We didn’t have a wolf, so we were pretty much humans. Also, the condition she was found in didn’t support her transition itself, so not having a wolf didn’t get too much blame. She was rushed to the hospital where she was getting examined for her injuries.I had been highly strung ever since I got a glimpse of my body. Some broken bones and blood all over her face. Why the fuck did she hurt my body?“She must know what happened. Everybody saw her getting out of the bathroom where Serena was. God knows what she told her that resulted in such nescience,” Daxon yelled at me from afar, not coming closer because of the audience around.Everybody had come to see Serena. I was just merely posing in the corner and waiting for the doctor to
“What are you talking about?” I was now shaking, with mixed emotions rushing through my veins. If she lost her memory and woke up in my body, why didn’t she question anything? Why didn’t she ask them why she looked like Serena? They sure mentioned a part of her memory. So whatever part is left with her should question her existence as Serena now. Why didn’t she?“She lost her memory. She only remembers the basics of her daily life,” Aunt Marissa thought, repeating after Daxon would clear everything to me, but it confused me even more.“What is going on? Why is Arlene so mad at me?” Serena finally broke the silence and spoke up after quietly listening to us for the past few minutes.I was flabbergasted and left with nothing but shock. How convenient for her to lose her memory at the exact time when she was going to be questioned?“She is lying,” I pointed at her since nobody really thought it was weird, “She is---,” I grunted, unable to escape my mother’s gaze.“What am I lying about?”
It boggled my mind how he was blackmailing me, yet expecting me to please him in any way possible. I was biting my nails and staring at the screen when the only option left to me was a bluff.Me: I am busy but I can compensate by meeting you tomorrow night.I hated myself for playing along. I even list the count of how many times I have cringed when responding to him.“It’s fine. That tomorrow night is not coming. I will fix it all before he even expects it.” I convinced myself that my idea was going to work and that I don’t have to worry about anything else.My D: Wait! Really? I thought your pussy was only for your sister’s mate and that other older dude.If I have to express in words, the amount of shock I received when reading his message, I will probably say it was similar to getting shot in the head with a silver bullet. There were a million ways I can take that statement. Did she really tell everyone she was keeping herself for my mate?“Everybody knew she was chasing after my
For a moment, my mind stopped working. I couldn’t even process what had just happened. He had his lips hard pressed against mine with his hand caging my head and preventing me from moving away from him. It wasn’t even a normal kiss; it was filled with passion and possessiveness. The way he suddenly sucked my lips and moaned on them it froze my body.I was stuck!Unable to respond, and push him away.He was the one who broke the kiss and smirked, setting me free and stepping back, too. Our eyes met for a brief moment and it didn’t indicate he was angry or doing it out of spite. He did it because he wanted to.“So you liked it too.” that comment was another blow to my existence. Did she not like it before? What was happening?I was watching him with peeled-off eyes and tears in them. He was steadily stepping back while smirking wider with his every step.“This is how you apologize to me, Arlene. Don’t forget that,” his voice was now giving me a headache. Serena was in the room and here
I had spent the day fretting about the night. It was going to be hella crazy to convince Reynard. He has proven himself incompetent to bring justice against miscreants like Mitt Pan.After the classes were over, I again waited in the parking lot to speak to Reynard, but when he came out with his friends, I decided to stay behind and wait for the right time. The right time never came because soon he got in the car and left. I had to call an uber and chase after him.Call it desperation, but I wasn’t going to sit idle and let the night arrive. Mitt won’t stay silent for too long.“That’s it, just drop me here,” I told the Uber driver and after paying him, I got out of his car and stood in front of Reynard’s enormous mansion.I have only heard rumors about crazy things happening in his mansion. He lived alone; I heard. His parents passed away when he was only a child and his warrior grandma brought him up. I believed she still lived with him, but her existence was not much discussed by a
After I made his grandma coerce him into helping me, I enjoyed a great afternoon snack with her.“You are a pretty young girl,” she had her hands on my face as she imagined what I look like.“I have heard heroic things about you. You were such a badass,” I smiled as I calculated the difference between her and the type of Luna I was going to be. My entire life was a fib, it seemed. I carried myself like a doll and didn’t allow my mind to think outside the circle of love.“I am happy I have left that impact on young girls like you.” she had taken me to her room to have a snack with me. I could see Reynard standing outside the door, safeguarding his grandma as if I was some sort of witch, ready to consume her.“I wish I have met you sooner.” I was still feeling sad that I wasted many years of my life thinking Daxon is the only reward that I want from the world.“Now help your friend and save her from that asshole.” after patting the back of my hand, she set me free. I got up from beside
“I am sure there is a misunderstanding,” I laughed when walking out of the car to accompany the chief and Reynard, who I passed a deadly glare before stepping near the chief.“Arlene Majestic?” the chief said, even when I am sure Reynard introduced me to him already.“That’d be me,” I let an awkward smile, feeling this intense heat inside my body that wanted me to let out a cry and ask for my mommy. No wonder they had sheltered me from reality. At least not anymore.“He was blackmailing you,” the chief said. Reynard had his arms crossed as he watched me in a bizarre mood. He should be thankful to me for making him appear as a hero before his pack and his grandma’s eyes.“Yes.” I was using short answers to not accidentally say anything stupid.“Here are the files he had on you. Take this day as a lesson and don’t do anything that is illegal.” Thankfully, it wasn’t Reynard who laid me bare. The chief handed me over the files before leaving for his car. As the sirens faded into the air,
