The sound of crunching gravel made Victor look up just in time to see Dominic’s black SUV pull in through the half-broken gate.

Dominic stepped out, calm as ever, dressed in his usual dark suit despite the heat. “You didn’t have to make such a dramatic scene, Victor,” he said dryly, walking closer.

Before Dominic could say another word, Victor swung a fist, landing a solid punch square on Dominic’s face. Dominic stumbled back, a grunt escaping him as he clutched his jaw.

“What the hell was that for?” Dominic snapped, glaring.

Victor’s nostrils flared. “You sent that huge amount of money while I was at work,” he growled. “Do you have any idea what that could’ve done? My accounts are being watched, Dominic! I told you to wait until evening!”

Dominic wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with a smirk. “I thought you could handle a little heat. Don’t tell me the great Victor Crane is scared.”

“I’m not scared,” Victor hissed, stepping closer. “I’m cautious. You don’t get to drag my

Jace stirred beneath the sheets, blinking his sleepy eyes open. He reached out his hand to the other side of the bed, expecting to feel the familiar warmth of River’s body beside him, but there was only cool, empty space. He frowned slightly, still half-asleep. “River?” he called softly, his voice hoarse from sleep. No answer came.Pushing himself up, he rubbed his eyes and listened carefully. That was when he heard it, the faint, steady sound of splashing water coming from downstairs.Jace threw on a robe and padded barefoot down the staircase, his curiosity piqued. When he reached the open living space, he stopped at the sight before him.River was in the pool, his body gliding smoothly through the water, droplets glistening on his skin like tiny crystals as the morning light hit him. His movements were calm but strong, every stroke elegant and steady. Jace leaned on the railing, a smile tugging at his lips as he watched silently. He could stand there forever, he thought. • Falling For The Billionaire I Was Hired to Protect    Feeling Loved

The sun filtered softly through the curtains, spilling warm light across the bed where Jace and River lay tangled in the sheets. The room was quiet except for the faint hum of the city beyond their penthouse windows. Jace’s head rested on River’s bare chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. Their bodies were still warm from the morning’s slow, lazy lovemaking, and a soft calm hung in the air that made Jace wish the moment could last forever.River brushed his fingers through Jace’s hair, his gaze distant, thoughtful. “You know,” he murmured, voice low and rough with emotion, “sometimes I wish my father was a good man.”Jace lifted his head a little, his brows drawing together. “River…”“I mean it,” River continued, eyes fixed on the ceiling. “Growing up, I used to look up to him. He was strong, powerful, fearless. I thought he was everything I wanted to be. But the more I learned, the more I realized he wasn’t someone to admire.” He exhaled, his chest rising under Jace

The flashing lights from the cameras made Jace squint slightly as he stood before the press. His tailored suit fit perfectly, his tie neatly knotted. The crowd of reporters buzzed with energy, microphones thrust forward as they tried to get a closer shot of the man who’d been at the center of every headline for the past few days.He took a deep breath, placing both hands on the podium before speaking.“Good morning,” he began, his voice calm but firm. “I’m here today to address the rumors circulating about River Hale.”The reporters fell silent, waiting.“There have been claims suggesting that River Hale, my partner, is involved in a murder case,” Jace continued. “I want to make it absolutely clear that these accusations are false. The alleged victim, Miranda Vegas, is alive and safe. She’s given her full statement to the authorities confirming River’s innocence.”A murmur ran through the crowd. Cameras clicked faster.Jace didn’t flinch. He continued, “The people behind this smear ca

River woke first, his body still heavy with exhaustion. The events of the last few days, his arrest, Miranda’s return, and Dominic’s schemes, still played through his mind like fragments of a nightmare. He reached for Jace beside him, but the space was empty. Jace must have woken earlier.River sat up, rubbing his eyes, and then got out of bed. He walked toward the kitchen, hoping to find Jace making coffee like usual. But as soon as he turned the corner, he froze.Miranda was standing by the counter, her back turned to him. She was crying quietly, shoulders shaking as she held a mug in trembling hands. The sound of her soft sobs filled the silent kitchen, breaking the morning calm.River hesitated, unsure what to do. Part of him wanted to walk away, to give her space. But another part, the one that couldn’t ignore pain when he saw it, made him take a few steps closer.“Miranda,” he said softly. “Are you okay?”She turned quickly, wiping her tears with the back of her hand. Her eyes w

  • Falling For The Billionaire I Was Hired to Protect    Innocent

Jace paced the tiled floor, his heart pounding in his chest. River was somewhere behind those cold metal doors, locked up for a murder that didn’t even make sense. Sasha sat in one of the waiting chairs, her hands twisting nervously around her bag straps, while Leo stood by the wall, trying to stay calm but his eyes betrayed his anger.Minutes felt like hours. Jace had already asked to see River again, but the officers told him to wait while they checked something. He wanted answers, anything to stop the helplessness building in his chest. Then suddenly, an officer rushed into the lobby. His face looked serious, but his tone carried something new, hope. “Mr. Maddox,” he said, slightly out of breath. “We just received a report… someone spotted Miranda Vegas alive. She was seen running along the highway outside the city.”For a moment, Jace froze. The words took a second to register. Alive. Miranda was alive.Sasha gasped, covering her mouth. “Oh my God… so River didn’t....”“He didn’t
