Agatha's POV

Cold.

It crept into my bones the moment my eyes fluttered open. I lay on a blanket of snow, my breath visible in soft, icy clouds. All around me was white—the sky pale with endless snowfall, trees frozen and stooped under the weight of frost, the horizon lost in a sea of shimmering cold.

"Is this the afterlife?" I whispered, my voice brittle against the stillness.

A sharp ache bloomed in my chest.

“I should’ve told him… I love him too,” I said, the words catching on the edge of a sob. Tears welled up, freezing before they touched my cheeks. I pressed a hand to my heart, and it felt like shattered glass beneath my skin.

A sudden movement drew my gaze.

Far ahead, a flash of white darted between the trees. A wolf—pure as the snow, its eyes glowing gold. It stood watching me, still and ethereal, before turning and disappearing into the forest.

“Wait!” I called, scrambling to my feet.

I chased after it, snow crunching underfoot. Each step grew heavier, colder. The wind

Pete's footsteps echoed faintly through the quiet hallway of the Morrow household as he carried Agatha gently in his arms. Her head rested against his chest, her breaths shallow and uneven. The front door creaked open, and Mrs. Morrow appeared instantly, her face etched with worry. "Oh my Moon! What happened to her?" she cried, rushing toward them, her hands trembling as she reached out instinctively. Pete carefully laid Agatha on the couch first, then readjusted her in his arms to carry her up the stairs toward her bedroom. His voice was low, hoarse with exhaustion. “Professor Dale… he betrayed us. He conspired with an outsider pack. They ambushed us last night during the Awakening Ceremony.” Mrs. Morrow froze mid-step, her eyes wide and her breath catching in her throat. "What? No... That can't be. Dale? But why would he do such a thing?" “I don’t know.” Pete shook his head, voice hollow. “But the attack was planned. Coordinated. They waited until the moment focus change on the

The morning sun cast a tired, golden hue over the field. Dew clung to the blades of grass, mixing with the dried blood and ashes that whispered of last night’s tragedy. The air still trembled with the echo of howls, the scent of burnt fur, and something more… something ancient. Agatha lay limp in Fenrik’s arms, her face pale against his chest. He cradled her like she might vanish. Rhunar stood nearby, arms folded, his jaw tense, eyes shadowed with unrest. He wasn’t watching the field—he was watching her. Professor Dale stood silently near the edge of the field, back turned to them all, his shoulders hunched as though the weight of his sins had finally found him. Ryan and Pete returned from their patrol around the school, their expressions tight, hands slightly twitching from the adrenaline that hadn't yet faded. Rhunar stormed forward, breaking the tense silence. “You put the whole pack at risk,” he said, voice cold. “What do you have to say for yourself, Dale?” The professo

"Fifty-eight wolves to go," Fenrik growled, his voice rough and raw, nearly lost beneath the snarling chaos around him. He stood in the heart of the battlefield, a hulking, blood-soaked beast with crimson eyes, fur bristling and teeth dripping with the blood of the Golden Eye wolves. His claws were stained and torn, but he didn't slow—not even for breath. With each thunderous lunge, Fenrik ripped through enemy after enemy, his wolf form barely distinguishable from a force of nature. Bones cracked, bodies flew, blood painted the field, but none of it mattered. His mind saw only one face—the rogue leader. The wolf who had dared shoot Agatha. The one responsible for her lifeless body. Fenrik howled, a guttural cry that silenced the battleground for a breath before he launched himself through another cluster of wolves. His massive paw slammed down on one, crushing ribs like twigs. Another tried to flank him, but Fenrik twisted, fangs catching the attacker’s throat mid-leap, dragging it

The forest reeked of blood, smoke, and sweat. The ground was soaked in gore. The trees around them, once tall and proud, now bore claw marks, scorched bark, and dangling limbs—some human, some wolf. Mangled bodies lay scattered like broken dolls. Limbs twitched. Mouths gaped open in eternal screams. Lya and Fenrik stood at the heart of the chaos, back-to-back, their breath ragged, shoulders slumped. Fenrik’s arms were coated in blood that wasn’t all his. His knuckles were bruised and raw, claws dulled from overuse. Lya’s chest heaved, her hair matted to her face, her shirt torn across the back where a rogue had tried to rip through her spine. “I… I don’t think my wolf can take much more,” Fenrik muttered, his voice low and gravelly, every syllable soaked in exhaustion. Lya spat a thick glob of blood onto the ground, then cracked a half-smile, broken and tired. “Me neither. Looks like we go down together, wild boy.” All around them, golden-eyed wolves closed in. Their growls ro

"How is this happening? Who are they, and why are they in pack land?" Fenrik growled, his voice rising over the chaos as his claws sliced through the neck of a lunging rogue. Blood splattered across his torn shirt and face, the scent thick and hot in the air. But he didn’t flinch. His golden eyes narrowed with fury, scanning the treeline where more shapes shifted between the darkness. Around them, the once-quiet night had erupted into a full-on battlefield. The sky was smeared with thick clouds, hiding the moon, and the trees trembled from the weight of bodies being hurled into them. Flames flickered in the distance where something—or someone—had set the woods ablaze. Rhunar slammed a massive grey wolf to the ground, its bones cracking beneath his weight. With a snarl, he twisted hard, snapping its spine. He turned to his brother, panting, his glowing blue eyes flaring like twin ice storms. "Are you talking to me? Because from where I’m standing, nothing like this happened until you
