"Wait up, June. You're forgetting your mask" Anita called out as she saw her friend rush out of the dressing room headed to the bar. It was a Friday night and Friday nights were the busiest for everyone that worked at the club. "Thanks, Ann" June Skylar called out as she rushed back to the vanity to pick up and put on the mask she had worn ever since she started working at Emmys Club. "Just relax, Okay? Take a deep breath" Anita offered and continued after June had taken one and then another, "Everything will be alright. Okay?" She stood on tiptoes and gave her friend a brief hug and she went back to struggling to put her hose on. Just like every stripper at Emmys on Friday nights, Anita and June were performing too and the manager was going to have both of their heads on a platter if they weren't out in five minutes. "Yeah, it has to be" June nodded, dragged another deep breath and tried to regain the composure she had momentarily lost. Everything was going to be alright.

June was finding it hard to focus on entertaining the eager customers after the news she had received not quite long ago. Cancer had depreciated her mum's health and if June wasn't successful in raising over a hundred dollars to settle the hospital bills, it would finally finish her off completely. "What did the man want?" Anita's voice brought June back to the present. "He wanted to compliment me" June sighed as she started arranging her stuff to fit into her tote bag she used for work. "Compliment?" Anita wasn't exactly convinced but June wasn't in the mood to indulge Anita's curiosity. "Yeah, compliment. I have to go" she gave her friend a quick hug as she headed for the door, it was way past visiting hours and something urgent had come up anyways at the hospital and her attention was needed urgently which made her more anxious than she had felt in months. What was wrong this time around? She couldn't wrap her mind around what could have gone wrong but she was getting agitated as the minutes went by. June's 5am alarm rang and she woke up with a jolt. She was laying in bed, in an unknown place and with a....man? It took her a few minutes for her brain to catch on with her environment and she started remembering. A man had approached her after her performance and made an offer she couldn't refuse which had landed her in the room she was in at the moment. Morals weren't exactly a driving force when the arrangement ended up with way more than she could have earned working all three jobs for a year. The plan was to wake up earlier than the stranger and leave before he woke up but somehow she had over slept. June was grateful the alarm had woken her up and not the man, she wasn't sure she wanted him to see her face. It didn't matter if the sun crashed on the earth or if the moon decided to replace the sun during the day, Michael Stahom was never late to work until that morning. He drove into the parking lot of the huge building where he was CEO and owner, Empire, in a haste to attend the meeting he had called for and was already 45 minutes late for. Typical Michael would have put whoever came five minutes late on probation but it was his turn to be on the receiving end. It didn't matter though, no one was going to punish him anyways, He owned the place. "Good morning Mr Stahom" the receptionist smiled in greeting as he hurried into the building. "Good morning, Emma" it was hard to keep track of his employees names but Michael made sure he knew the important people. "They're all waiting for you" Bridget, Michael's assistant, called out to him as he walked into his office. The elevator ride up to the floor where his office was situated was enough to inform him on the status of the office.

"Juneee!!!" June's sister, Layla screamed as she ran to hug her as her big sister, as she appeared in the hallway where their mum's room was situated in the hospital. It had been over a week since the last time June had paid a visit to the hospital and seen her little sister. Their mum had been sick for quite awhile but June couldn't afford to just sit with them at the hospital, the bills weren't going to pay themselves. "I need to speak to Doctor Rachel first, okay?" Layla nodded and June gave her a kiss on her forehead and told her to go back to their mum. The doctor was glad to see June in good condition but her face told June there wasn't much good news to share. With Layla satisfied and her mum finally asleep after crying, June kissed them both goodbye, promised to come see them more often and left the hospital to go for her first job. Michael couldn't recall how many times Drake had complained about how much he was huddling himself up in the office, bent over different files and not having a social life that didn't include boring contract signings and businessmen conferences. "I have the perfect place for you to go to ease up all this tension you've been carrying on your broad shoulders" Drake told him that afternoon as he walked into the office with the remaining files from the project. Michael didn't hesitate to air out his views, "If it's a party, I'm not interested" The look on Drake's face afterwards should have warned him but Michael knew he really needed a break so he complied anyways and found himself at Emmys that night.
