A few minutes later, when they arrived at the hospital, the doctor came out.

"Please, how is she? I hope she's okay," Lillian asked anxiously.

"Yes, she is. She just needs some rest," the doctor replied.

"Thank goodness," Lillian breathed in relief. She had been terrified earlier, worried they might have seriously hurt someone. She was grateful the girl was going to be okay.

"Can I see her now?" Lillian asked.

"Yes, of course," the doctor said with a small smile.

Lillian was in her office, carefully checking out the dresses she had designed with a few of the models who had come for a fitting. The room was lively as the models admired the elegant pieces, while Lillian moved around them, adjusting a sleeve here and fixing a neckline there. Her fashion house had been extremely busy lately, and she had been working tirelessly to prepare for the upcoming launch of her new collection.Just as she was about to give another instruction to one of the models, her phone suddenly rang. The sound broke through the noise in the room, and Lillian quickly reached for her phone, slightly annoyed by the interruption. However, the moment she glanced at the caller ID, her expression changed completely. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw that the call was coming from Rose and Daemon’s teacher.A strange feeling settled in her chest. Why would the school be calling her now?It had only been a month since the last parents' meeting, which she had personally at

Olive’s POVWe had just finished packing our bags. The small living room was filled with two travel bags and a few boxes containing the things Abigail refused to leave behind. Today was the day Abigail would finally move in with me at Lillian’s house. Just thinking about it made my chest feel lighter. Ever since our father passed away, I had constantly worried about leaving Abigail alone in this house every time I went to work. But now, thanks to Lillian’s kindness, my sister will be staying with me. I couldn’t even begin to describe how grateful I felt toward my boss. It wasn’t something she had to do, yet she did it without hesitation. That alone made me respect and admire her even more. When I told Abigail about Lillian’s decision the night before, she had screamed so loudly that I almost thought the neighbors would come knocking on the door to check what had happened. Her excitement had been impossible to hide. Abigail had always admired Lillian, long before I even started working

Olive and Joe were driving back home after dropping Rose and Daemon at school. A soft melody played quietly from the car’s speakers, filling the space with a calm, gentle atmosphere. The morning sun filtered through the windshield, casting warm light across the dashboard. Olive sat quietly in the passenger seat, her elbow resting lightly on the window as she gazed outside. The cool breeze slipped through the slightly open window, brushing softly against her long hair and sending a few strands dancing across Joe’s face now and then. Joe didn’t complain. In fact, he barely noticed it. His eyes occasionally shifted from the road to Olive, watching her silently. There was something peaceful about the way she looked outside, lost in her own thoughts. He tried to keep his attention on the road, but every few seconds his gaze drifted back to her, as if something about her presence pulled him in.Just as Olive adjusted her sitting position, her phone, which had been resting on her lap the who

Lillian POVIt had been exactly two months since I walked out of Sebastian’s house with my heart in pieces. Two months since I chose myself over pain. And today, was my birthday.I woke up slowly, the morning sun sneaking through the curtains and casting soft shadows across my room. For a moment, I lay still, listening to the quiet. Birthdays used to mean something different to me flowers, surprises, whispered promises that never lasted. I exhaled softly and turned my head.My eyes landed on my father’s picture hanging on the wall.A gentle smile curved my lips.“Happy birthday to me, Dad,” I whispered.I stayed there for a while, staring at his warm smile in the photograph, as if he could hear me. He had always been the first to celebrate me, the first to make me feel special. His absence still hurt, but this morning, the pain felt softer wrapped in memories instead of regret.Eventually, I pushed myself out of bed and walked lazily into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, washed my fa

Olive kept stealing glances at Joe as they drove to pick up Rose and Daemon from school. She couldn’t explain why she was staring at him, she just couldn’t seem to stop.Am I losing my mind?Olive thought as she turned to look out the window, trying to calm her racing thoughts.“Are you okay?” Joe asked, casting her a quick glance.“Yes… I’m fine,” Olive said with a small smile.“I was just thinking about Madam and her husband. I feel like something is wrong,” Olive added.“Me too. I can’t tell what’s going on, but whatever it is, it doesn’t seem good,” Joe replied.“I feel bad for the kids. They must really miss their father,” Olive said softly.“Yes, I know,” Joe said.Silence settled between them, heavy but not uncomfortable. Joe kept his eyes on the road, yet he couldn’t help stealing glances at Olive from the corner of his eye. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t get enough of her.*Lillian sat alone in her office, a pencil clutched in her hand, a sheet of paper spread

Emily drove toward Sebastian’s company with a smile that never once left her face. From the moment she left the house, her heart had been dancing with excitement. She was confident, no, certain, that this time, Sebastian would finally fall for her. With Lillian gone, nothing stood in her way anymore. As she pulled into the parking lot, she parked carefully and reached into her handbag, pulling out a small mirror. She checked her reflection closely, tilting her face from one side to the other. Her makeup was still flawless, her lips bold.Seeing that nothing had smudged, she smiled in satisfaction.“Perfect,” she murmured to herself. She slipped the mirror back into her bag, grabbed it firmly, and stepped out of the car. The clicking of her heels echoed confidently as she walked toward the company entrance, her posture elegant and proud, like someone who already belonged there. As soon as she stepped inside, one of the guards approached her. He frowned slightly, clearly recognizing her
