2020-12-03 06:38:16Walking into the house as quietly as he could, George peeped into the kitchen, he smiled as he saw his mother was in the kitchen, she was silently humming to herself.
He ran upstairs towards his room in a hurry, if she saw him, she would definitely question him about his rough appearance, his eyes were swollen and puffy,he had not even bothered to change out of his sport’s outfit after the whole proposal fiasco. She would freak out if she saw him.
He was about opening his door when the door to his Marie’s room opened and she sauntered out in her pyjamas munching popcorn, he groaned in distress, Marie might be beautiful facially but her heart was the blackest he had ever seen, she was not the least bit sympathetic.
“Hello George Richwood, how was your day?” She slurred teasingly, resting her popcorn bowl on her hips
George ignored her and proceeded to open his door, she ran in after him heading straight to his bed, she ruffled his hair as she walked past, he moved away in anger, righting it back
“Are you ignoring your sister now? Georgie? You should not do that” she said slurring her words
George tired of her antics, dropped his school bag on his reading desk and faced her ”What do you want to say? Marie, I know you have something and you are dying to say it, so just say it and be gone” he deadpanned none too gently
She did not disappoint, she assumed a serious disposition immediately, the little minx, she always had something up her sleeve “I want to know the reason why you proposed to Stacy at the football ground? I am curious about that?” she suddenly asked with all seriousness, with no trace of tease in her voice
George let out bitter laughter, he walked to his window, raking his hands through his hair ”You never cease to amaze me, Marie, You are an excellent actress. You have really chosen a major that walks in your line of talent”
“I am serious George, do not think I took her reaction at the football court lightly. She humiliated you in front of the whole school for goodness sake”
George shook his head sadly, “No, it is my fault, I should have respected her wishes. I could have asked her privately first before going public the way I did.”
Marie laughed ”Are you kidding me? George. Are you seriously taking sides with Stacy Guns now? You are actually blaming yourself for her mistake. I can’t believe this. You are unbelievable George. I cannot be any more disappointed in you” Marie said disgusted throwing her popcorn on George’s table, the bowl fell on the floor, spilling its contents all over the room
“Marie, my room, clean it up right now” he whined
“Keep quiet. I am not done talking Goerge. I know you are not this naive, You and I both know the reason why she did that to you, she is pissed off about my status at school, she is trying to humiliate me by using you to get to me. And I promise George, I will not let her off the hook. No, not this time” Marie declared
George did not agree, he shook his head in denial “Stacy did not refuse me because of you Marie. Not everything is centred around you, Marie. The fact that both of you dislike each other is none of my concern. She is the girl I like, and as my sister I expect you to be my number one cheerer, But I am also disappointed to hear you saying this. It is extremely mean of you to just make such speculations about Stacy. It is wrong Marie.”
Rolling her eyes, “Please spare me the preaching. Since when did you become so magnanimous. Arent you as mischievous as I am” Marie countered
“Not this time, Marie. Not this time” George said silently to himself, he sat on the desk lost in thoughts
They soon lapsed into silence, silently watching each other
Marie tired of the silence, shouted,” So what are you going to do now?”
“What do you mean what am I going to do?”
“The whole school knows she rejected you. Everyone will humiliate you for a long time coming, and…”
“And it will affect your reputation in school so I should stay away?” George completed annoyed
Exasperated, Marie replied “Stop trying to make this difficult. That is not what I meant, do not misunderstand me. I know you like Stacy Guns. But it is high time you get this stuck in your head George, that bitch has no feelings for you whatsoever, not even hatred. She is only putting up with you to spite me for goodness sake. Can’t you see?”
“No, I can't see. I love Stacy and I will not sit and watch you belittle her so. She has being a friend since kindergarten for goodness sake”
“Yeah right,” Marie murmured. Marie knew the girl never acknowledged George all her life. She was always a snobby little thing.
“She is my first, love Marie." George continued " I Cant just give up on her. I cant at all. I will keep on trying to win her love no matter what. I will keep on trying. I will show her the true meaning of love, because of the love I have for Stacy Guns is true and real. I can feel it. It aches so much that she does not realize it.”
“You are a lost cause George, I give up”
“Yea, please do. It is not your love life. It is mine, and I will do it how I see fit”
Marie snorted angrily, she would keep quiet for now, but she knew what her plan was. Se would make sure George forgets Stacy as soon as possible. George might accuse her of being selfish by not wanting him to go back to the school yet to face Stacy. She was not concerned about herself, She was concerned about him, The comments online were horrific and would surely make him lose confidence in himself if he saw them. They were harsh and mean, Some of the commenters were even Stacy’s closest minions.
“Fine, do as you wish. But do not say I did not warn you”
A sudden knock on the door made them both lookup
“George is Marie in there with you?” their father called
“Yes, Dad,”
“Yes, Dad, what is it?” Marie answered
“Could you kids come down for a minute, I have something to discuss with you guys, it is urgent please, could you pause whatever you are doing for a minute or two?”
“Yes, Dad. We will be right up” George replied
He looked at Marie, “He sounded tensed?”
“yea, he did. what could it be?”
“Let’s go find out”
Marie stood up heading towards the door when they got to the door, she turned back to look at him
“You know I always have your back and I will see you get the love of your life to love you. Even if I have to swallow my dislike for her”
“Thanks, but you do not have to do that. I know you all too well, you are not a nice person and when you are not, it usually going wrong. So no need, I will get her to agree to my proposal alone Thanks.” George said
Marie smiled, he saw through her plan, but nevertheless, she would still carry it out.
“Dad, we will be right down” She called giggling as she walked down the hallway to the living room. A true queen bee never backs down, she faces what she believes in head-on.

He had no idea why he was suddenly metamorphosed to the image where he was stopped by the school prefects who had demanded he give them his bag for searching, he had not suspected a thing as weird as it sounds, he had not heard of students being searched before but he obliged and gave them the bag since he had nothing to hide.He had watched in shock, as they had produced bags after bags of hard drugs from his bag, there was no word to be said. He knew he had fallen into a deep trap that he could not get out of. He had collected the bag from them only to produce more bags of hard stuff he knew nothing about.Facing Stacy again, made him feel like he was at the mouth of another trap, though he could not kay his finger on it, he felt suffocated just by seeing her, the very thought of her insincere eyes made his sting.“What do you want Stacy, I do not have all day” He demanded brashlyShe smiled prettily, laying her slender hands on his shoulder

George sat with a blank face in his new classroom lost in thought, his eyes sliced through what the teacher had written on the board, but his eyes had since lost their focus and only lay listless, therefore no recognition was sent to his brain“That’s it for today’s class, Stacy get all the assignments and submit them to my desk” The teacher announced and left the classImmediately the teacher left the class, George set his head on his desk, letting his emotions whirl about, it had been a crazy day when his sister found out he was leaving, their father had somehow found out the real reason behind it all and had demanded Marie also break up with Cyrus of which Marie had rejected the suggestion. Mr Richwood however wasted no chance in sending George off the next day, and by the following week, he was allowed to return to Dale High with his registrations settled. He was made to live alone in their previous house which further added to his loneliness.

The sweat ran down Nicole’s neck as she ran down the steep steps to her father’s office, she gave no concern to the thumping sound of her feet on the tile floors, she ran blinding through the classrooms, pushing and pulling both objects and humans out of her way as she ran through.She had been such a fool to believe her father would let her go just yet. She saw he had tried his last straw and she would also do the same, even if it means her ending his career.George had known her father would not back down, she had been the foolish one not to sense it, his quietness despite their win, his bitter smile, he had even lost focus in class.The door to the Meeting room was locked firmly by the time she got there, she locked her ears firmly to the door but there was no sound coming out. She began beating on the door with her bare hands but the door refused to give way. It was a hopeless cause; she would have to wait till the meeting was over

“I can’t believe you got my Dad to sign the divorce, he was so adamant about it,” Nicole said.George chuckled but said nothing, only he would know the tactic he had used, Nicole would only worry if she came to know how he had gotten Principal Francis to back off.
