CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE

Standing with apprehension at the front of her mother’s pouch, Nicole stood nervously, she turned to observe her surroundings, the car in the garage was dusty and showed it had not been in use, even the sidewalks had no sign it had been treaded on for weeks.

She was sure she had the address correctly, she had collected the address from her father’s room on a lucky day and it had been in her possession since then.

Anxious, she walked to the window, she used her left hand to clean the dust away, pressing her nose to the glass, all she could see was an empty living space, with clothes strewn all around, but there was no sign of her mother.
