“It all happened because of me. Caden, you might have been able to meet your brother if it wasn’t for me,” I grumble in a low voice.

“Esther! Look at me! See here,” he palms my face and makes me turn to his side.

“Nothing! Nothing that happened today happened because of you. Do you get that? Nothing means nothing. So, stop blaming to yourself. Trust me, am going to feel really sad if you keep on doing that, alright?” he says.

I think for a while. I know he doesn’t want to hurt me. So, he telling all of those things just to make me feel good but deep within I know that it all happened because of me.

But, since he is trying so much not to hurt me, I think it’s better for me to pretend like nothing has happened. So, I nod my head and smile at him.
