LOGINHAZEL POV
The library basement was quiet, smelling of old paper and dust. It was 2:00 AM, and I was on my third cup of black coffee. Spread across the large wooden table were three thick textbooks on advanced corporate finance, alongside Killian’s sleek silver laptop. Killian didn't care that I had my own midterms to study for. He had thrown his syllabus at me three hours ago and told me he wanted a twenty-page research paper done by sunrise. He wasn't even working. He was sitting across from me, his long legs stretched out under the table, his boots resting on an empty chair. He was watching me. Not reading, not on his phone, just tracking every move of my pen, every blink of my eyes, like a hawk watching a mouse. "You're staring," I muttered, not looking up from the screen. "You're rewriting my thesis wrong," Killian replied, his voice a low purr in the empty basement. "I have a 4.0 GPA, Killian. I know how to write an economic analysis," I snapped, finally glaring at him. "I don't care about your GPA," he said, dropping his legs to the floor and leaning across the table. The shift in his weight made the wood creak. "I care about your focus. Your phone keeps buzzing. Turn it off." "It's Winter and Mila," I said, glancing at the screen. Ten missed texts. They were worried about where I had gone after the party. "They will think I'm missing." Killian reached across the table, his long fingers snatching my phone before I could grab it. "Give it back!" I whispered, half-rising from my chair. "No distractions," Killian said smoothly, dropping my phone into his jacket pocket. "Your friends don't need to know where you are. For the next month, your only priority is me." "You're a monster," I whispered, anger burning hot in my chest. "I'm your boss," he corrected, a slow smirk spreading across his face. He stood up and walked around the table, stopping right behind my chair. He leaned over my shoulder, his chest brushing against my back. The sudden physical proximity made my breath hitch. He reached past me, his large hand wrapping over mine on the laptop mouse. His hand was warm now, heavy and strong. "Section three is weak. Fix the market analytics." I froze, my heart hammering against my ribs. I could feel the heat radiating from him, the scent of his cologne filling my lungs. It was a bizarre twisted contrast, his actions were cruel, but his physical presence felt overwhelmingly intoxicating. For a terrifying split second, I didn't want him to move away. "Why are you doing this to me?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper. "You have all the money in the world. You could hire anyone to do your work. Why me?" Killian stopped moving the mouse. His breath was hot against my neck, sending a shiver straight down my spine. "Because the others are boring, Hazel. They bow down the second I look at them. But you... you have that fire in your eyes. The same fire you had when you slapped me back in London.” He leaned closer, his lips almost touching my skin. "I like watching you fight me. It makes it much more fun when I finally break you." I pulled away, shaking. "I'm never going to break." "We'll see," he murmured. “What do I have to do for you to leave me alone? It’s been years killian.” My eyes shimmered with tears. “Why are you asking a question you already have the answer to?” “I’ve never done anything to you. Why me?” My voice breaks down with tears I’m fighting to hold. “I used to imagine this. Not the blackmail, that part’s just logistics.” His thumb traced down the side of my face, slowly. “I imagined you across a table from me, exhausted, furious, with nowhere left to run. I didn’t think it would feel this good to finally have it but it does. People think I’m cruel because I enjoy it.” He tilted his head, studying me like I was something under glass. “I’m not cruel. I’m patient. There’s a difference. Cruelty is impulsive and you hazel, you caught my attention since high school, there’s always a thrill when I see you and I won’t let the feeling go.” straightening up and walking back to his chair, he said. "You have four hours left. Get back to work." By 6:00 AM, the paper was finished. My eyes were bloodshot, and my head throbbed. I packed my bag, my movements sluggish. Killian stood up, tossing my phone back onto the table. "Tonight, 9:00 PM. My dorm," he commanded, turning on his heel and walking out of the library without a single word of thanks. I collapsed back into my chair, gripping my phone. My hands hovered over winter’s name before I finally typed something back. Me: I’m okay. Long night. Will explain later. The reply came instantly. Winter: Later?? Hazel it’s 6am. Where the hell have you been Mila: we were about to call campus security Me: I’m fine I promise. Just stressed about classes. I promise to explain everything later at the dorm. Winter: that’s a lie and we both know it. I stared at the screen, my thumb hovering over the keys. I wanted to tell them everything, the garage, the contract, the video sitting somewhere on Killian’s phone, But if I told them, they’d try to help. And helping me would mean getting in Killian Blackwood’s way. I wasn’t going to let that happen to them too. Mila: you better explain yourself woman Winter: if you’re not at the dorm now I’m hunting you down myself I set the phone down and pressed the heels of my hands against my eyes, exhaustion pulling at every part of me. When I opened my messages again, my heart dropped. It wasn’t just Winter and Mila who had texted me. There was a new, anonymous message on the campus forum. ‘The freshman girl from the party belongs to the bikers now.’ The trap was tightening, and I was sinking deeper into the quicksand.HAZEL POV“You want the monster, Hazel?" Killian whispered, his voice dropping into a low growl. "Fine. You got him."Before I could even think, he lunged forward, scooped me off the floor, and threw me over his shoulder."Killian, no! Put me down! Let me go!" I shrieked. I hammered my fists against his back, blood rushing to my head. I tried to kick my legs in the air.Slap.I froze as the sting registered. Did he just spank me?"You're insane! Let me out of this house!"He didn't say a single word. He kept on walking. He pushed open the bedroom door, carried me inside, and dumped me onto the bed.I scrambled backward. “What do you think you’re doing? You heard me before, put your hands anywhere near me and I will kill you.”He just smirked. "You're not leaving this house tonight, Hazel," standing at the foot of the bed. "And you're sure as hell not leaving tomorrow either. You're staying right under my roof until I say you can go."Truth is, I’m scared of Killian, but I will not kee
KILLIAN POVI didn't wait for her to recover. My hand curled around her waist as I pulled her with me through the backstage. The girls there whispered how lucky she was to be with me. No shit, I’m the lucky one. I pulled her outside towards my car. The shock must have worn off because she shouted out,"Killian, let go of me!"I ignored her and opened the car door. “Get in.”“What the hell do you think you’re doing? You know what, I will forget about this act of yours tonight. Right now, I need to find Winter so we can get the hell out of here.”I let her walk away. She almost made it inside till I pulled her back and threw her over my shoulder."Put me down, you psychopath! Let me go!" She screamed.I threw her inside the car the same time her friend came outside, shouting, “Hazel!”“Winter, help!” My girl shouted.I pulled the car out and drove off with her friend shouting Hazel's name."Are you completely out of your mind?" Hazel screamed again. “I need to get back to Winter. Let me
HAZEL POV“Let go of me! I told you I didn't audition for this!” I screamed. “I said let go, you overgrown big bastards!”“Shut up and stay in line, forty-six,” the larger guard barked again.“There's been a mistake! Check the system again!” I pleaded, my voice cracking with pure panic as tears blurred my vision. “My name shouldn't be on that list! Let me out of here!”None of the girls even looked at me. If anything, they were delighted to be here. Sick people. They kept on calling numbers, and the girls one by one walked out. I heard them bidding, and this is really sick. Are we bags of chips or what? Always listen to your damn guts, Hazel.“Entry number forty-two, you're up,” a female yelled, clicking her pen.A tall brunette stepped forward, the heavy curtains parting as she walked out onto the main stage. The second she stepped out, a deafening roar erupted.“Alright, gentlemen!” the student MC’s voice boomed over the loudspeakers. “Let’s keep the numbers climbing! Bidding for nu
HAZEL POVFriday night arrived far too quickly. Winter spent two hours tearing through her closet before turning on me, forcing me out of bed and into a fitted dark green dress that I didn't even remember owning. I tried to argue, but she wasn't having it."We are going, Hazel," she insisted. "You promised me, and besides, what would you be doing here? Thinking? Or studying? You’re 20, you gotta live."“Why do I have a feeling I’m gonna regret this?” I sighed.“Oh, please stop whining like an old woman. Now shoo.” She pushed me towards the door.An hour later, the bass from the speakers pounded through my heels as we stepped into the private campus theater. I almost didn’t recognize the place. It had been turned into a fancy ballroom, like something straight out of a movie. We were offered masks, and we slipped them on and went inside the hall.“Wow.”“I know, right?” Winter giggled.Winter grabbed champagne for both of us, and I took a sip. “So what exactly do they do here?”“You wil
HAZEL POV“I’m telling you it’s true,” Conner said, sliding a chip into his mouth.Winter leaned forward. “What exactly is going on in this campus? First someone sent her a bloody parcel, secondly a video of it was cast all over the place, and thirdly the said video just disappeared. This is really becoming a problem.”“Maybe it’s Killian.” Conner shrugged. “He might be doing it to taunt you. Guy is a menace.”“Aha, I said the same thing, and she was all like, ‘Oh, that’s not his way.’” Winter shook her head at me.“Sorry to say, Hazel, he’s the only one that has been bothering you around here, not to say he almost beat me to death, so yeah, my bet’s on him.”“I already apologized for that,” I mumbled. He stood and patted my shoulder. “And I already said it’s fine. It was not your fault. But whatever happens, you gotta stay clear of him. He’s bad news.” He kissed Winter on the cheek and left us alone in the cafe.“Are you two a thing now?” I smiled at her.“Maybe.” She blushed.I laug
KILLIAN POVI slammed the door to my room shut, my body vibrating with anger.“You will be back here on your knees one day, mark my words.” His words rang in my head.“Never,” I muttered. I stripped off my clothes and walked into the bathroom, turning on the shower to wash the day’s exhaustion off my body.I leaned my head flat against the cold tiles, ran my hand through my face, wondering exactly how I’m going to keep Hazel away from all this.I shut the water off, wrapped a towel around my waist, and walked back into the bedroom. I stopped to see my Mum sitting on my bed.“Killian, baby,” she whispered. “This was not how I pictured this night to go. You shouldn't have talked that way to your father. You shouldn't have hit him, my boy. You know how he gets when people challenge his authority.”“I don't give a damn about his authority, Mum. Ain’t you tired of all this shit?”She let out a slow, heavy sigh. “He’s still your father, my husband. He just wants what’s best for you and your
