“M-mark me,” she whispers and my whole world stops.

The pain in my stomach evaporated for a split second as her words floated into my ear. My vision had been blurring, but I regained enough consciousness so that I could see her clear as day. The tears streaming down her cheeks made my chest clench, but she was still the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on. I never wanted to hurt her and I feel guilty for being the one to make her cry. I didn’t want to leave her, but I could see Petro fading away within me and I knew I was nearing the end. It was getting harder to fight, harder to breathe. I could feel my body growing colder even when Rose climbed on top of me and shared her warmth. It felt so good to just close my eyes, to rest.

Marking Rose brought the most euphoric sensation to my body. The sparks ignited all over my body as her scent enveloped me and I inhaled it one last time. Suddenly, a bright light filled my mind and I felt like I was floating. Panic
