Silence

(Nisha's POV)

The next moments were that of silence. None of us talked. I and Maddox kept on looking like old lovers who had ran out of things to tell each other. I felt like holding onto Maddox but that wasn't possible. It would only betray the fact that I was cheap and obsessive.

"I guessed as much…" Maddox said slowly. "The evidences were too strong to be resisted. You disappointed me, Nisha. I can't still understand why you did that. Your explanation makes no sense to me. It sounds like a lame excuse."

I couldn't help but bury my head in shame. Maddox's reaction wasn't shocking. It was what every normal person would do in that situation. I was in the wrong after all. I had to take whatever he threw at me, at least for the meantime.

Now, Maddox kept silent. Suddenly, he looked filled of energy. He was about to talk. I made sure I could hear him clearly. I didn't want to make a mistake with that I was doing.
