Chapter Two.
Zeke
“You went out?” His voice rang out, as I walked into the hall. Sharp and crisp, as always. I didn't react, as I approached him further.
“Hello, Father.” I simply said, and took my seat beside him.
“What do you think you're doing, Zeke?” My father, King Elliot hissed, as he rammed his hand on the throne's armrest.
“Depends on what you're talking about, Father.” I ignored the woman who was smiling beside him. And her son.
“You brought someone over?” He continued.
I was already irritated at this point. And all I wanted to do was get away, and go to my chambers. But I couldn't. Unfortunately, this was one of the many nights we had a meeting.
“The royal ball is in a few days, Ezekiel! What the hell do you-” He was saying, when Alex cut him off.
“Isn't that a scent of a human I perceive on you, brother?” He asked, with that signature annoying smile on his face.
My gaze darkened, and I hissed, “And why do you care?”
“You'd get her out of here, this instant, Zeke! What the hell are you thinking? You know very well that a human isn't allowed in our kingdom. I can overlook you visiting them, but bringing one over?” My father's eyes narrowed, but that only served to amuse his wife.
I rose abruptly to my feet. They could continue the meeting without me, for all I cared.
“You can go on.” I simply said, and made my way towards the door.
“Be careful, Zeke. A human hasn't been here in centuries. I wonder how the others are reacting towards your little…human friend.” Alex called out, just as I turned the doorknob and walked out.
Servants and guards loitered around, preparing for the royal ball, which was due in a few days time.
And as much as I hated to admit it, Alex was right.
A human hadn't been seen here in hundreds of years. I doubled speed, as I teleported to the room I'd kept her.
But I was late.
“Get the hell away from her!” I barked, gripping his neck, before the words were out. His fangs were almost out when I walked in. I couldn't afford to scare her, before she even knew who I was.
But this bastard was about helping me do so.
It was Kelvin, Alex's friend. And I was moments away from sinking my claws into his neck. He might have seen the fury on my face, because he let go of the pale faced lady in front of him.
“I'm sorry, Prince-” He stuttered, and I pushed him away.
“Get the fuck out of here.” I ordered.
She was frozen still, her hair a mess around her body.
“Look at me, you're safe now.” I said softly.
She didn't move. I bent, and helped her up. She was still dressed in her wedding dress, and I couldn't trust the servants to dress her up. I wasn't going to risk coming back to meet her body, drained of blood to the last drop.
Her sensuous eyes which had attracted me to her, were now widened with fear. I swallowed. I'd never been good at comforting anyone.
I doubted if I had feelings left in me. The only reason I was holding her in my arms right now, was because I had an inkling we were fated.
The way my heart had stirred back in the car confirmed it. And it'd been lots of centuries since I had such a reaction.
“Where's this place?” Her teeth clattered against each other.
I remained silent for a while, contemplating what answer to give. “A place where no one can touch you.” I finally said.
“But-” Her lips parted to speak.
“Let's get you out of your wedding dress.” My voice hardened at the thought that someone had been about to marry her.
She belonged to me.
She moved away from my hold, standing some safe distance away from me. “Are you going to-” Her words trailed off, and an amused smile touched my lips briefly, before I wiped it off.
“Do you want someone else to do it for you?” I asked.
“I can do it myself.” She snapped.
I was in front of her within seconds, my hands gripping her arm tightly. “You'd do as I say, Mirah. If you want to live.” I added the last part in a lowered voice.
She studied me for a brief moment, her chest heaving. Finally she sighed. “Fine.”
I led her out the room. Obviously, letting her stay alone, without a formal announcement to the others was risky.
She hugged herself, and though I could see the questions in her eyes, she didn't say a word.
My room was as I'd left it a few nights ago. Dark and untouched. I'd forgotten the last time I'd even stayed here. Or the last time I actually slept. It should've been a decade ago.
“Wow,” I heard her breathe behind me. I walked further in. She could take the bed. I had lots of work to do. And the first one was finding out who gave out false information to my father.
A war was looming, and no one knew about it. Not that they'd care anyway.
But deep down, I couldn't help but feel whatever was coming was something stronger than anything ever seen before.
And that was rich, coming from a vampire like me.
“You haven't told me your name.” She said in a soft voice, as I helped her out of her wedding dress. As it fell to the ground, leaving her almost naked, my soul almost left me.
I swallowed hard, wondering why this woman had such an effect on me. She was a human for fuck's sake.
I brushed her skin unintentionally, but she gasped. And I almost did too. The spark which had erupted from the touch, however momentary, couldn't be denied.
“And why would you care about my name?” I asked her, turning her around sharply and pinning her to the wall.
A gasp left her lips, as she stared directly into my eyes. Through the window, below I could see the people moving around. It was always dark here.
“You already know mine, it's only fair I know yours.” She whispered, her voice a tingly sensation touching and stirring a part of me I'd locked away for centuries.
“It isn't worth it, or important. You can call me whatever you want.” I said, and almost pulled away.
“Love.” It was a barely audible word, but I heard it.
“What?” I asked, my eyes narrowing into slits.
“I'd call you, Love.”
Amusement filled me, as I looked at her. There in my room, almost naked with her skin beckoning at me, I had to admit she was the most beautiful creature I'd ever set my eyes on.
I shook my head. That wasn't the reason I'd brought her over. It'd been long ever since I had a toy, and someone who could arouse me.
Vampire royalty always kept mistresses and toys who satisfied their peculiar sexual needs, whenever they needed. It wasn't a problem since the toys were vampires themselves, however low class.
But she-
She was a human. What if I killed her myself?
“You don't seem to hate it.” Her soft voice roused me from my momentary thoughts. She had a smile on her face, and I thought I saw her shudder.
“I suggest you don't.” I said coldly, as I threw her my cloak. “The bathroom is by the right end.” And with that I left the room.
Even with the window open, no one would be stupid enough to get into my room. With that thought, I strolled down the dark hallway, lit only by blue lights which shone down from the ceiling.
“Hey bro.” I stood face-to-face with Alex, who had his toy to his side. She smiled briefly at me, until I shot her a hard stare. She dipped her gaze in fear, burying her face into his side.
“What do you want?” I asked coldly.
One would be foolish to assume I liked Alex or his mother a single bit. I walked around every passing day and night, holding myself back from sending them off the face of the world.
“You hadn't noticed me, when you were dragging your little human friend away to your room.” He chuckled without mirth, as he roamed his free hand over his toy's body.
I didn't react. Alex thrived in getting me angry, but I wasn't going to give him that pleasure, right now.
He continued. “She seemed rather pretty, with such a pretty neck. And I bet her blood would taste nice too.”
He didn't even get the words out, when I pinned him to the nearby wall, nose flaring, and my eyes turning a bright red.
“You wouldn't even dare. Get your fucking eyes away from her. If you as much as touch a strand of her hair, that'd be the end of your miserable existence.” I raged through gritted teeth.
His toy let out a little shout, as I sank my claw into his chest, drawing blood. “Do you fucking understand?” I asked, sinking it further. His blood splattered on the ground, leaving a red trail all over.
“Y-yes.” He choked out, and let him go.
With a cold smile on my face, taking a brief glance at his panic filled face, and another at his toy whom I was sure who'd be losing a lot of blood in his room tonight, I said,
“Good.”

EPILOGUE Mirah“This is beautiful,” I breathed, letting go of Zeke's hand and standing on my feet.Candles were set up on the table, and the entire decor was so romantic. I turned back and kissed Zeke gently.“Thank you,” I muttered softly. He held onto my waist, and led me towards the table.“You deserve more, Kitten.” He said.“I never knew you had this romantic side to you,” I teased.“And like I said before, there are many sides to me that you don't know.” He chuckled. “But you will,” He quickly added, making the glower I was already putting on dissolve.“Better,” I laughed. After he poured us wine and I clinked my glass against his, I caught him staring intensely at me.“What? Do I have something on my face?” I asked, suddenly feeling shy.“Not at all. I just can't stop staring at you.” He said, lifting his glass towards his mouth.“I guess you're lucky then,” I winked.“Oh you have no idea, Kitten.” My skin scorched under his hot stare, and I pressed my le
Chapter Seventy-Seven MirahI took a deep breath, as I took in the faces of everyone present round the large table, in Mt Glacier. We'd automatically transformed it into a meeting place where all kingdoms met for discussion.“It has surely been a tough, intense ride for the past few months. I'm glad everything is over,” I began, my voice ringing clearly around the room.“But since everything is over, I'd like to return the Source to the rightful owner.” I said, letting my gaze land on Xavier.A temporary silence reigned, before Xavier broke it.“The Source chose you for a reason, Mirabella. You're kind, compassionate, and selfless. You're everything a Controller should possess. And I'm sorry for all the time I'd pretended to harm you.” Xavier said, the words sounding odd, considering how icy he was.But I smiled all the same. “I understand. But I don't belong here. You guys know it too.” Natasha rose to her feet, rounded the table, and came over to hug me.“I’l
Chapter Seventy-Six ZEKE/MIRAH MirahWe fought off members of the Circle with ease, as we advanced towards Mt Glacier.I dealt Master Damian a fierce punch, and sent him flying in the air.At the side, Zeke was fighting too. Gone was his indifferent demeanor, and its place was fierceness. A bloodthirsty look.“Watch out!” I turned and yelled. He moved from the position he'd been, and his grandfather's claws swiped at empty air.“Natchez, good to see you on the battlefield.” He scoffed, as their swords clanged.“It’s King Natchez to you.” His grandfather grunted, and dealt Zeke a blow on his jaw.I darted towards them, when a claw suddenly swiped in front of me. I staggered a few inches away, before gaining my footing.“I ceased to respect you the moment you chose to side with evil,” I heard Zeke sneer before piercing straight into his grandfather's chest a sword laced with vampires-bane.“Nice of you guys to join the party.” I heard Tyler sneer.
Chapter Seventy-Five Mirah I spluttered, as I fell to the ground. Zeke ran over to my side, panic spreading over his face. “I’m fine,” I managed a smile, as he helped me up. “You’re not. What happened?” He asked, placing an arm around my neck, and leading me back towards the tower. The others tailed us. “I’m hungry,” I murmured. “We’ll get you something to eat. But what happened? Why do you have bruises on your arm?” He questioned, his voice dropping dangerously low. “Zeke, calm down,” I could see how angry he was, from his bulging veins. His anger seeped into our bond, making my heart burn. “I didn't want you to go.” He said gruffly. “But I'm back now, and safe too.” I countered, pulling away from him to walk on my own. The others were watching, so I managed a smile. “I’ll go get cleaned up,” I said, my voice barely a whisper as I tried to push past him. His hand gripped my arm. “Follow me.” He said, and pulled me away towards the tower. “You’re hurting
Chapter Seventy-Four MirahI hid behind a tree as I watched the swirl of dark energy swoosh past. I'd been roaming through the streets of Weasels for the past one hour, while staying hidden of course. I'd already used a spell on my back, where Darcel had stabbed me.The Lumi had completely taken over Weasels and the dark energy that spread around, made my heart beat fast.I waited until it had gone far, before coming out of my hiding place. My destination was the castle, although I doubted if Tyler was there. According to Zeke, Tyler hated the royal castle. And I wondered why, considering the fact that he wanted power. I held on to the hilt of my dark sword as I advanced. After minutes of hiding and resurfacing, the castle came into sight. I climbed a tree, so I could catch a clear glimpse of the security around.Turns out the guards manning the gates were Vampires. And they looked…different.Possessed.I inhaled sharply, and then jumped down from the tree.“Hey, there
