Chapter 51

Liam’s POV

"You killed her!" I screamed, the words ripping from my throat like shards of glass. My voice cracked. I rushed to Raina, her body crumpling to the ground as her eyes rolled into her head. "Ysra, what did you do?!"

Ysra’s face was pale but calm, her arm slowly lowering. "I didn’t kill her," she said quietly. "It was only enough to knock her out. She’s not dead."

I dropped to my knees beside Raina and lowered my ear just over her chest. Relief hit me like a wave when I heard the faint rhythm of her heart. Unsteady but present. Her breathing was shallow, but it was there.

"She needs to rest," Ysra added, her tone clipped. "We don’t have time to argue. Get her out of here."

Ian was already pulling out his phone. "We can’t risk another outburst like that. We're taking her home.”

I scooped her into my arms, guilt and helplessness clawing at me. Her head lolled against my chest, strands of hair sticking to her bloodied neck. I flew us off the roof without another word.
