Chapter Five

I guess they are right. I did not expect it would be this hard to lie to someone you find attractive, especially when he looks into my eyes. I feel like he is undressing me. All the facade and walls I have put around me crumbled down, and I lay there helplessly naked.

Come on, Tricia. You can't let a stranger do that to you. You're a beta; you should have the power to resist, especially with a human, and yet... Yet I felt so vulnerable no matter how much I reminded myself.

"The truth is, I came from the world of werewolves. I've done something unforgivable, and they banished me," I said, giving up all my inhibitions. I don't care if he would laugh or make fun of me anymore. I have nothing to lose anyway.

Aaron didn't say anything but looked into my eyes, as if trying to find any signs of lies. "You don't seem to be lying," he said, still holding my eyes. "And you look pretty despite what you're wearing."

Wait. Did he just compliment or insult me? I looked at my arms. I'm wearing this dark purplish robe. My face turns red. I might appear like a grandmother to him. A 20-year-old grandmother.

He stood up and suggested, "Why don't you finish your food quick? I'll just clean your room first."

"Um. Thank you." I tried to smile.

I continued eating my food and drank the water. Then I went to the kitchen to wash the dishes. This is the least I can do for them. After washing, I went to the room. My eyes almost fell from my face when I saw Aaron without a shirt.

He turned around to face me. He looked so stunning without a shirt. He has those defined muscles and abs. Hard as rocks. "Everything's clean. Your bed, milady," he said, as if offering me to sleep with him.

I shook my head, trying to forget those intrusive thoughts of sleeping with a gorgeous stranger. "Thank you." I smiled. "You're such a gentleman."

"You don't know me yet," he said, moving toward me.

I stepped backward until my back touched the wall. He got me cornered, with nowhere else to escape. "Wh—what are you doing?" I stuttered.

"What's on your mind, huh?" he asked.

What's on my mind? Why'd he ask? I can feel my heart pounding in my chest as he tries to look into my eyes. "No—nothing." I bit my lips.

"I doubt that," he said. "You're blushing."

I swallowed the lump in my throat, trying to maintain eye contact, but I felt so vulnerable in this position. I started to imagine again, with us together tangled up in bed.

"You want me to fuck you, don't you?" He asked without a sense of embarrassment in his tone of voice. Damn. I find it attractive, even the way he said this.

I couldn't look him in the eyes. I hate to admit it, but he was right. I can't help but imagine how it'd feel to be fucked by him. I tried to move away, but all I could do was moan. I didn't want to offend him when there's nothing else I can do to repay his mother's kindness.

"Ple—please... Stop..." I moaned.

"Can you stop making it sound like I'm harassing you?" He asked, taking a step back.

I felt so embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I thought..."

"You thought what?" He asked in a firm tone. "That I'm going to kiss you?"

"Yeah. I'm sorry." I fixed my clothes.

"I should be the one to apologize. Anyway, your bed is ready, so you can sleep now. I'll be around. Just call my name if you need anything." He picked up his shirt and stepped out of the door.

I couldn't help but jump. I've never met such a charming man before. I know I might sound so desperate, but I wish I didn't resist and let him kiss me. I crawled into the bed and hugged the soft white bolster, imagining it to be the man I just met.

Even that imagination makes me feel at ease. There's something about him that feels like home. It's like I can be who I am around him. I closed my eyes and got some rest.

When I woke up the next day, I found my lower part damp. I had a wet dream about me making love with Aaron. I just couldn't control my thoughts from getting wild. All I thought about all night was him.

"Morning."

I got a shock as if lightning struck me when I heard that deep manly voice. Immediately, I pulled the blanket up to cover myself. I don't know how long Aaron has been standing there. I felt so embarrassed, as he might have seen what I was doing.

"Mo... Morning," I stuttered.

"You okay?" he asked, stepping closer. "Why won't you get up and have some coffee?"

"Please stop." I raised my hands, gesturing him to stop stepping closer, but he ignored the boundary again.

"Why not?" He crawled on the bed, putting me in a very dangerous position, under him, under his dominion. "Mmm... You smell good."

My face turned red. I couldn't hide my embarrassment. He didn't know he was the reason for that smell. I don't know how he'd react if I told him I was thinking about him all night. My heart is beating so fast and loud I could almost hear it.

Don't look at him, Tricia. Don't... But I couldn't resist it, and when our eyes met, I lost myself again. Those beautiful eyes of his. They are like beads of heaven. I felt him moving closer until our faces were an inch away, but he stopped right there, coughed, and moved back.

"Why won't you get off the bed and take a bath?" he suggested.

I felt the tension slowly fading. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Even though he's handsome and flirty, he's still a stranger. I know nothing about him, and he knew nothing about me too, and maybe that's for good. The less we know about each other, the better.

We arrived at the city before midday. My eyes felt so heavy as if they were going to fall, and my stomach was growling from hunger. I didn't sleep well last night because of those mosquitoes and ants. I'm sure Aaron's also starving. There are a lot of moving things around, resembling a buckwagon, but they are more advanced. "Those are cars," Aaron said, giving me a slight nudge. "Come on, we should sell this horse first. We can't keep it with us if we want to stay here. We'll have to pay for a farrier and vet."There are a lot of new things around I haven't seen before. The streets are busy with cars. Many people are moving back and forth on the sides of the tall buildings. It's so noisy, and the air is thick with pollution.I followed Aaron to the horse buyer's house. He negotiated with the man while I waited for him outside. Finally, Aaron stepped out of the door with a bag full of cash."Good grief, he finally agreed with the price. Come, let's grab something to eat." Aaron held my

I lost control over myself again. My body ran and leaped towards Aaron. I'm seeing him from a bloody lens. He's dangerous, like how I saw Luna Asfara before I killed her. I needed to stop myself before I could make the same mistake again, but I felt so powerless over my wolf. I don't want to see Aaron die in my own hands, but I can't even close my eyes.Even though we've just met, Aaron is the first man who made me feel this way. It is as though I've found home after being banished from the pack. I can be who I am around him. He might not be perfect and acts like a kid sometimes, but I like him for who he is, and I never thought I'd be the reason for his death.Thoughts stopped racing in my head when my wolf jumped above Aaron and attacked those wolves who were trying to kill Nathan. Fiercely, my claws scratched and threw them away one by one while growling until they all ran away and escaped. Then I turned towards Aaron. The blood from my vision is already gone, as if there's no long

Aaron's question made me feel guilty. I want to do what Hellen asked me to do, but I don't want Aaron to hate me and distance himself. He already felt betrayed that his mother didn't tell him the truth. I shouldn't make it more difficult for him, so I decided to spill the beans."It's not that I'm hiding something. I'm just respecting your mother's request," I said."Tell me about it. I won't be mad," he replied."You really want to know?" I asked, thinking about what Hellen told me: how Aaron acts when he's mad. It's not that I'm afraid of him; I just don't want to cause trouble."Of course. She's my mother. I have the right to know whatever is going on," he said.I sighed before saying, "Your mother asked me to take care of you once she's gone. She's going to pay me her savings instead of using it to cure her illness.""What?" Aaron exclaimed. "How could she do that? I'm not a child anymore who needs a nanny. She should have thought about herself first.""She loves you so much that

Hellen was right. I know nothing about how she felt. Also, my parents did the same. Even though I've disappointed them, they still think about my safety. They did everything they could to save me.After eating our food, Hellen and I went back home. On our way, I've been thinking about what she asked me. I don't really know if I can do it, but I think it's worth a try. I can not only earn money to support myself but also experience how it is to be human.I sighed as I lay down on my bed. Looking at my palms, I remembered what I did to Luna Asfara. I don't know how I could kill her. I've never done such a thing before. Something must be wrong with my wolf. All I know is that it's dangerous to transform, for I might not be able to control myself again. I don't want to hurt innocent people.I held the pendant that my mother gave me before I left. It made me remember the memories I had with my parents when I was young. How time flies by. One moment we were happy together, then in just a bl

I swung my legs off the bed and tidied up my bedsheets and pillows before going to the kitchen. The woman was sitting by the table, having coffee. She's so kind. A lot of things happened last night, and I forgot to ask her name."Good morning, ma'am," I said, approaching her."Morning, Tricia. How's your sleep?" she asked."Great. Thanks for the soft bed," I replied, though her question made me remember the wet dream I've had."I'm glad to know that. Want some coffee?" She asked, standing up. "By the way, I'm going to the market today to buy some things, and I'll need some help. Can you come with me?""Of course I can. That's the least I can do." I sat down in the chair. "What's your name, by the way?""Just call me Hellen." She offered a warm smile, stirring the coffee in a mug with a spoon. "Here's your coffee.""Thanks." I sipped the black coffee. It smells incredible and tastes great, though it's the first time I've tasted it. Werewolves aren't fond of coffee, and I only drank tea
