Nora's POV

I felt my eyes stinging and burning at the realization that Louis has rejected me as his mate immediately after I offered him my body.

He must have known how I had crushed on him for a long time and then used it against me. He played me for a fool! He took advantage of my love for him.

I choked on my tears, looking into his eyes for any remorse, but I could see nothing but hatred for me from his eyes, and I staggered back.

"Louis..." I tried to talk but he cut my words short.

"It's alpha Louis," he said with a demeaning look and I could hardly believe he was the same person who had looked at me with love in his eyes, held me like a fragile egg, and had laughed wholeheartedly with me a few hours ago.

I tried fighting the tears in my eyes, but I couldn't control them any longer as they betrayed me and fell freely from my eyes. I felt like a slut, a whore who sold her body and I suddenly hated my body, I hated what I did with him and regretted it immediately.

I took my clothes that were laying mercilessly on the floor and wore them with embarrassment. I could hardly swallow the lumps growing in my throat.

"Be fast!" Louis said hurting my ego the more, I sniffed and looked at his face one more time, hoping he will change his mind and say all of this was a prank but his stoic expression confirmed everything I needed to know. He never cared about me, he only used me and I have no one to blame but my naive self who thought I was finally having my fairy tale.

I left his chambers, banging the door on my way out. I tried to hide my face as I walked away swiftly, but every servant's questionable eyes were on me. I tried to control my tears, but I couldn't and started running. Running as far as my leg could take me.

I don't deserve to be here, lake Park is not for me!

I stopped running when I was far away from the Pack building and fell on the floor. I hated myself so much for trusting him, for loving him, and giving my body to him without any objections.

I cried my eyes out thinking about how I was going to face my people again, how I was going to face my dad, and especially how I was going to face him without feeling an agonizing pain in my chest.

The embarrassment I felt was too big for me that I don't think I could run back home, I stood up again and shifted into my wolf form. My wolf whimpered and cried while we ran farther away from the pack without turning to look back.

I kept on running and got deeper into the forest. The thick forest tore my wolf skin, but we didn't stop, we just wanted anything that will take us farther away from Louis, maybe that will be able to reduce the pain that I felt.

" I'm getting weak Nora" she whimpered, her legs trembling.

We must have run for a long without realizing it, we suddenly stopped running, slumping on the ground, and slowly, I shifted back to my human form. I was laying on the dirty ground with my breathing haggard. I tried to raise my hand, but I was too weak to, and slowly I found myself drifting off into darkness.

"Mate!" I heard in my head, still deep in my slumber. I felt a wolf sniffing me and suddenly, I heard the crack of bones.

"Wrap her up with clothes!" I heard a masculine voice say, and I forced my eyes open. I was surrounded by three men and one of the men covered my naked body with clothes.

They tried to carry me up, and I hissed so loud as pain traveled around my body before the darkness engulfed me again.

The sound of the movement of a vehicle made me open my eyes slowly. I held my head and groaned, finally opening my eyes, the car I was in suddenly slowed down, and a massive gate was opened. The car drove inside and after a while, it stopped.

"You can come outside now" the man in the car with me said, and I came outside. I noticed I was dressed in a shirt and a short and my cheeks turned red in embarrassment at the realization that I must have been dressed up by a man. The stranger precisely.

I followed behind him and he opened a door that lead to his office. I looked around and felt his gaze on me.

"My mate," he said and my wolf purred and I shivered.

The moon goddess gave me a second chance to mate immediately. I don't know if I should be happy or not but is this how It works?

"I was shocked when I found you in the woods"

" we will talk later but first, you need to visit the Pack's clinic and after that, we can sit and talk. What's your name?" he asked.

"Nora," I replied and the thought of Louis suddenly invaded my head. I felt my heart tightening, remembering how my name rolled out of his mouth, I held the hem of my dress trying to control the anger and hatred I felt towards him.

"I am Austin, the pack Alpha. We should visit the clinic first," he said and I nodded. I followed him out of his office to the pack's clinic. The doctor checked my vitals and said I just needed adequate rest and that I was just exhausted. I nodded and he applied some medications to my wounds.

We went back to the Packhouse and he took me to a room. He opened the door and we both went inside the room.

"This will be your room. You will be comfortable here and if you need anything you can just ring the bell and I will attend to you asap" Austin said and I couldn't help but smile.

Isn't he sweet?

"Thank you so much for your hospitality," I said, and he nodded, letting go of my hand.

"You should go freshen up now, we will talk later when you are done, mate," Austin said and I smiled. He strode out of the room. I sighed and quickly lock the door behind him.
