Chapter 10
Jay's pov
Her eyes were slowly shutting close. My arms shook, watching the girl I love dying right in my arms. But her body still felt warm and I could feel her chest go up and down as she took heavy breaths in.
"Quickly! I have to do this quickly. I don't have time!" I opened the bottle and poured the liquid into my mouth. Lining my lips on top of hers, I made her drink the antidote. Relief flooded my body as she swallowed it. I hoped I was not too late to do that.
For the next half an hour, I stayed still, still holding her. Her breathing was loud and so was my heartbeat. I was way too scared. When I felt her breathing starting to get normal, I felt relief all over my body again. Outside, the war was still raging, both packs fighting with every intention to kill and die if needed. I felt guilty, for not being out there to help but I knew I needed to be with Astra for now.

And oh right! Convey this message. Do not kill the alpha's family. I can't ignore this. After all, this is a request from my 'dear son'..." Saying this, he left the room with the other two. The two wolves ran off to spread his message.

Astra's pov I felt my consciousness returning to me and I slowly opened my eyes. "Jay.." I called out to him but my voice was barely over a whisper. Two wolves attacked him. I recognized them. Astra's pov The war felt like it had been going on forever. The sight of all those corpses, all the blood, and the number of injured wolves losing blood so rapidly, being rushed to get treated, some still lying around, not being able to walk on their own, not having anyone to assist them made my head spin a little. Astra's pov: I tried to dodge him. He was too quick. All I could do was turn around. Ugh! He got me. Blood gushed down my back. It hurt so bad. Blood! More blood now. It made me nauseous. Astra’s pov: “Ugh…this pain. It just won’t leave me alone!” I pounded my palm on my head and closed my eyes. A thought had been gnawing on my mind for the last couple of weeks. I reached out for the glass of water on the table beside me. My hands shook and the glass dropped with a huge crash. Pieces of sharp glass remained shattered on the wet floor. I stepped into the pool of water. An especially large piece of glass was right in front of me, its sharp edge pointing right at my toe.
