Katana's POV

The sun peeked over the trees in the distance and I sprang out of bed with a fluttery feeling of anticipation and tingles all over my body.

Racing over to the bathroom, the door was slightly ajar, and I pushed it open to find my mum standing beside the sink with a warm smile on her face.

"Why are you so excited that you are starting school today," she chuckled, washing her face.

Joy bubbled in my laugh and shone in my eyes. My mum's smile broadened. "Oh Mum, you don't know how long I have longed for this day to come. Imagine how our lives would be after I got my diploma. I could go to college and better our lives. I’ll become a robotics engineer and make sure you never lack anything."

My mum rested her back against the wall and watched as I stripped down to my bare skin and hopped into the shower.

"You know that Damien is doing all of this for you, don't you? He has helped the Omegas because of the mating bond you share with him."
