Chapter 19

"I'm sorry that happened to you and for leaving without permission also for getting my brother hurt," Tiny said sympathetically but not sorry for leaving. Tiny walked over to where Ben was laying down and laid down beside him watching his breathing. She carefully comforted him when he started fidgeting and whining in his sleep. Once he settled down, she closed her eyes and let sleep take her.

When Thomas walked by with Kim taking turns keeping an eye on Ben so Rain could sleep, he saw Tiny asleep next to her brother protectively. He could not help but smile wistfully at the closeness the siblings had wishing his brother had survived their birth. He sat down next to Kim watching Ben out of the corner of his eye while listening to the bustle around camp. He got up when he saw Frank and Clarence bring in an orphaned pup that was a little older than tiny and her littermates, but too young to be eating solid food. When Thomas got over there, he saw how underfed the pup was.
