Chapter 16: Better get used to it

Time flew by quickly and soon, the sun sank over the horizon. The clouds cleared, giving way to the gibbous moon to send its silvery rays to the earth.

The bonfire had been lit and the entire shifters crowded around it, laughing as they chatted with one another. Drinks were being shared while music played softly in the background.

Some of the new students, particularly the witches, had blended in easily and were seen conversing with the shifters. The vampires were slowly warming up to the crowd, while the foxes kept to themselves.

Alpha Alaric and Luna Catherine had retired for the night, leaving Alden, Asher and Axel to lead the party.

"You should go make some new friends," Axel commented as he lowered himself beside Diana on the stairs.

"Like you mean it," she rolled her eyes.

"I do." Axel said, his eyes scanning the crowd.

"Have you forgotten what happened when I tried to make a 'few friends' in school?" Diana arched a brow and faced him. "You almost took Jason's throat off."
