Chapter 37: Unexpected announcement

"Dad, Dad, Dad, where are you?" I screamed in excruciating pain as I kept shouting his name over and over again.

The sound of my scream caused three nurses to hurry into the room in which I was currently located. "Ma'am, may I ask what's going on? From the next room over, we could hear you screaming in agony." While the other nurses frowned at me, one of the nurses asked with a frown while the others kept looking at me.

"It's my father, and he can't be located anywhere!" I said while pointing to the mattress. The others didn't notice that he wasn't lying on his bed until after I had finished talking and they had time to process what they had heard.

"Where on earth has he been hiding out? I just came in to make sure he was okay, and when I came back, he was laying down on that bed!" This was the second nurse's response, and she sounded perplexed as she stared blankly at the vacant bed.
