Elysia's POV

I walked into my room thinking about what the alpha had said, he confirmed that he killed someone but the alpha didn't seem like the one who could do such a thing without a reason.

Sarah came in with smiles on her face "what are you doing here my lady I thought you would be training with the king now" she asked me looking a bit surprised.

"The alpha has been caught up with something he needs to attend to something, he will be back later" I replied her.

Trying to change the topic I asked "why are you looking all smilingly and giggling?" She looked away shyly not wanting to answer me.

"It's not my lady" she said playing with the knot of her dress.

"Then tell me about it" I pressed.

"It's just that kings beta Kyle, I think he is really handsome and calm" she said.

I had noticed her staring at him at the party last night and he also was staring at her looking away when she turned.

"Do we have someone in love her" I said teasing her harder.

"No my lady, what are you saying. I just admire him that all, like the way he smiles, the way he packs his long hair back, the way he talks so softly and calm even the way he fights so gracefully, I was just..." She stop thinking she had said too much.

"You have fallen hard for him in just the short while you spent here" I said feeling a bit surprised.

"I'm not in love with him my lady this is just a feeling of admiration the beta is just so perfect that he can't go unnoticed" she said walking away to the other side of the room.

 

I couldn't help but smile at Sarah's childishness even though she was always acting mature she became like this because of the kings beta. This is really funny.

"Don't worry Sarah, I will ask about him from the alpha when I get time" I told her watching the way her face lightened up.

I wanted to now more about the beta and see if he truly deserves my young, mature and beautiful Sarah.

The young lady was truly a gem and any man who would have her in his life should make sure she is given a princess treatment.

"I have my go now my lady, I have some chores that has not been done yet" she said I reluctantly let her go even though her being here temporarily removed my mind from the matter on ground.

She left the room leaving me to my thoughts, the alpha was yet to come as he promised and that woman what was he going to do with her.

"What's going on with you alpha" I said to myself signing.

As if listen to my thoughts the alpha walked in looking exhausted and stressed out.

"Adrian" I called out running to him.

Adrain's eyes locked onto mine as I ran to him, concern etched on my face. He looked exhausted, stressed, and... broken.

"Elysia," he whispered, his voice cracking.

I pulled him into a tight hug, holding him close as he wrapped his arms around me. "What happened?" I asked softly.

He took a deep breath, his body shaking slightly. "I have an illness," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't know what it was back then, but... I've been dealing with it for years."

I held him closer, encouraging him to continue.

"I can't tell you what the illness really is but you will find out one day" he said

I wanted to press on the matter but him tell me about this is already a miracle. And I know he was going to tell me when he feels its the right time.

I could see how broken he was making me feel pity for him, so such a nice and perfect person is also suffering secretly not letting anyone know about it.

"Mia walked in on me during one of my episodes," he said, his voice filled with pain. "I lost my mind, Elysia. I didn't know what I was doing. I... I strangled her."

"I....I killed her even though she begged me not to, I killed her after claiming to love her. I'm such a bad person. I'm slowly becoming a monster" he said looking at his hands.

I knew this feeling of not having the power to change what you have done. The feeling of being called a bad person.

Tears rolled down his face as he spoke, and I felt my heart break for him.

"I'm so sorry, Adrain," I whispered, holding him tight. "It's not your fault. You didn't know what you were doing."

He nodded, his body shaking with sobs. "I took her body to her mother, trying to cover it up. I told her it was an accident, but she didn't believe me. She left the pack the next day without telling anyone."

I held him closer, trying to absorb his pain. "It's okay, Adrain. I'm here for you. I'll stay by your side, just like you've been there for me."

He looked up at me, his eyes red-rimmed. "You don't hate me?" he asked, his voice filled with uncertainty.

I smiled softly. "I could never hate you, Adrain. You're not responsible for your actions when you're not in control."

He pulled me into a tighter hug, holding me close as tears streamed down his face. "Thank you, Elysia," he whispered. "Thank you for understanding."

I remembered how he had been patient with me when I just woke up, how he gave me the zeal to fight for myself there was no way I could hate him.

I could smiled at him but couldn't stop myself from thinking what kind of illness he has and what was the cure.

And how could I help him since he has done a lot for me I felt useless unable to do something for him. I need to do something that would benefit him.
