Chapter 67

Emma’s POV

It's a quarter to ten, and my brother Elton plans to take me out to a fancy restaurant to celebrate the fact that he is going to be an uncle.

We talk about names for my kids and how excited our dad and brothers are.

I bite my lip and ask him, "Elton, do you think I should contact Jordy and Austin and tell them about it?"

"I don't know," he says.

"You were an eighteen-year-old girl when Jordy wrecked your life. And Jordy is a playboy; he owes you the security of marriage. For him, marriage has to be a life sentence."

I furrow my eyebrows; I don't understand why Elton doesn't like Jordy.

"He is my partner, and he proposed to me. We're going to get married."

Elton shakes his head. "Your real family, Dad, your two brothers, will provide you and the twins with a safe haven and the recognition they need for a better life."

"But I love them, and they love me. They will be happy when they hear I'm pregnant."
