Chapter 14

The following morning, I woke up with a start and when I peeped outside the tent, the moon was just disappearing from the clouds. I looked towards where the rogues had set their beds and realized that they were all still sleeping. Beside me, Sharon was curled up with her hands tucked between her legs as she snored softly. Once again, I had woken up before everyone else.

I quietly crawled out of the tent and breathed in the scent of fresh wood and wet earth. I stretched leisurely and began to walk towards one of the rogues, snoring loudly as a bead of drool dripped from his mouth. We were supposed to go for a morning jog, as that helped him reduce his weight, but I stopped in my tracks when I got within three feet of him. I was no longer the Rogue leader.
