Connor’s pov

Of all my thirty two years on earth, this is the first time I was able to read someone outside my pack’s mind without initiating it.

‘She is different.’ My wolf commented.

I know that and I can also see that.

I have been to this pack so many times, and I have never seen anyone that looks red so alluring. She looked so fragile from her eyes but her face was tough.

Just like a woman who was crying for help from the insides.

Asides from all of that, she was built like the woman back in my pack unlike most female werewolves from this pack.

The bartender smiled at me then he handed me my loyalty card so we could use the vip cage.

“I see you are a regular here.”  she said as she saw me place the access card over the door to the vip cage.

“You could say that. Do you come here often?” I asked her.

“Have you blocked yourself off from my thoughts?”

“Yes, it stopped tight after you asked. My wolf blocked it off,”

“I thought mages didn't have wolves.”

“Well, I can’t remember introducing myself as a mage, but let’s not change the subject. Do you frequent this place?”

This place is an ordinary place on the outside but there is a lot of shady business that goes on in here. Since different packs frequent this place, it is quite hard to get a wind of the shady activities unless you were a regular.

I wanted to know if she was aware of that.

She chuckled sarcastically. “Now you are the one switching the subject, how are you not a mage and can read my mind?”

“My mom always said I was a special baby. Would you care to tell me why  you were here, er mind my manner, what is your name?”

“Isabella.”

Her eyes scanned the whole place, it was obvious that she had never been here before though she seemed to know how the system worked because she had recognised the card.

“I am Connor. I see you are married.” I mentioned as my eyes caught the engagement pendant on her neck.

She chuckled dryly, “You must have guessed from this.” She touched her neck. “My dad gave that to me.”

“So you are single?”

“No, I am married.”

Her statement said a lot. She is definitely in a loveless marriage, her husband did not give her any jewellery to show that they were married, if a woman like her belonged to me, I would have adorned her with all the most expensive pieces of jewellery that match her eyes.

Her clothes scrambled luxury so there was no saying that her husband could not afford to give her wedding jewellery but he chose not to. He is such a useless man.

‘I can’t even seem to read what her wolf properly because you had me  block us out of her mind,’ Hectare, my wolf groaned, ‘ she is an omega, unmarked by her husband who is also her chosen mate.’

Hectare is a lot calmer, less aggressive. I suspect it had something to do with Isabella.

I grabbed a bat and handed it to her, “The ball will come out automatically from that end, all you have to do is it hit with all the resentment you have in you,”

She took it from me like an amateur, just like I had assumed her to be, “Is it okay for me to show you how to use that?”

She shook her head in agreement, I took the other bat, and stood away from her where her eyes could see the moves well.

In no time, she got the hang of it and  started going at it for 30 minutes straight.

She was soon exhausted and I ordered some drinks for us.

“Is it weird that you are the closest person to a friend that I have in my life at this time and I  only just met you.”

A smile formed on my lips like I just scored a point on a debate. “You think  I’m like a friend.”

“No, you read my mind earlier so you are not my friend.”

“If you say so. Let me at least pretend I’m your friend today and tell me what’s bothering you?”

She looked at me with hesitation on her face, I really wanted to comfort her.

“It’s not like you’d see me again. Why not tell this stranger your worries, a problem shared, is half solved already."

“You are right” she raised her glass to lips to down all the content in her mouth. “It’s not like our part will cross anymore.”

“I’m married to the biggest scum in this pack,”

I couldn’t help but admire her reddened face. Every shade of this woman is so beautiful. She was half drunk, half sober and a part of me burned at the thought of another man seeing her in this state.

“He is an important man who married me, refused to mark and give me the title I deserve because I am an omega.”

She bleched in the most graceful way. “I’m sorry. Pardon my gross self. Can you believe that man said any woman would kill to be where I was?”

“He’s not wrong, those women in the high society have the illusion that he’s the prize.”

Her expression fell, "Maybe they are right, he is the prize, after all my sacrifices do not matter because I am a mere Omega."

“Can I swear?”

“I am your friend for today, feel free to do anything.”

I wanted to see that side of her too.

“That son a bitch said he wants to take a mistress because he didn’t want his pups to have my omega blood. Isn’t that outrageous?”

The meeting ended and we returned to our hotel.“What was that back there?” Henry demanded. I ignored him but I knew he would not let it go. “Did you sleep with her when you were out yesterday?”“Jesus Christ, Henry, where did that come from?”“I mean, it is you. You never take women seriously but you always bed a hot one. I never knew you were brazen enough to sleep with an Alpha’s wife. This could cause us this whole deal if the Alpha finds out. Now I see where the bad feeling you had this morning came from."I massaged my forehead, I was starting to get an headache from all of his rant. “Would you let me speak?” I remained calm. One of us had to stay calm in this situation and it is definitely not Henry.“First of all, I did not sleep with Isabella.”“But you are on a first name basis with her, haha.”He is trying to ragebait me as well, I won’t fall for that, “We met at the batting cage yesterday and we spoke, she got drunk and I took her home safely.” I looked away from him b

(Any marijuana plot in this story is fictional, if you are going to relate to it irl, kindly do your own research, xx)Connor’s povToday was the day I scheduled to buy the batting cage at the yellow crescent pack. I had no plans to buy any other business, especially when Henry and I had a lot on our plate. We even had to appoint a gamma and a delta to handle the businesses in the farthest packs from us.Recently, werewolves from our pack had shown positive diagnoses to marijuana which is highly prohibited in most packs because of its detrimental effect on the wolf’s trachea.Without much noise, Henry and I began to investigate the source of this marijuana as it had not spread to many of our neighbouring packs. We made our first stop at the yellow crescent pack. They had a batting cage where our pack members often frequent, where we discovered the source of the problems. We had no permit to investigate the batting cage, requesting for one from the pack meant accusing them of distribu

I froze! Our eyes met, before I could react to his reaction, I looked away so I could comport myself. I should have known that getting angry and walking off was only going to lead me to a terrible fate..If I had just gone back to my room, I would never have met his man. From the way he was acting towards me, I should have been suspicious. The good thing is that I am aware of his intentions. I walked in, with Jerry closing the door behind us, Gina and Zayn sat opposite Connor and his beta, leaving the head of the table empty. I didn’t want to sit near Gina, I naturally sat at the head of the table while Jeremy stood behind me.There is really no way to keep the nonsense going on under the wraps with my husband, his ignorant mistress and his Beta that pretend to be dormant.Zayn is unaware of how resourceful and powerful Jeremy can be, if he had ever for one day, performed his duties, that would be the first thing he would notice. But here we are. With a deadly smile, Gina was the f

Zayn did not look surprised by this news, that means he was the one that invited that ruthless Alpha here. That only worsened my anger.“Prepare a car that would take us to the pack house at once” he ordered his beta. “You might get a change of clothes.“Why did you bring that rabid dog here?” I demanded from him. The Alpha of the Neon Moon pack is the most notorious Alphas that are surrounding our packs. It is no news how ruthless he was when it comes to taking over other pack’s major businesses. Every other pack that he had brought to their ruins had spoken about how merciless and greedy he was.“That Rabid dog is about to change our lives in this pack, so go inside, change your clothes and speak only when you are allowed to.”What is this jerk up to?I am fully aware that the reason why he wants me to come what him to this gathering is to speak about the businesses since he knows nothing about it, while he made the decisions that may crush the business empires I have been build

Isabella’s povI opened my eyes and I was well tucked in my bed in the clothes I wore last night with no memories of how I got home. All my life I had always pictured myself as a heavy drinker but that’s wrong, I had my first drink yesterday and I blackout after one glass. So many questions popped into my mind but who could I possibly ask? Ah, Connor. The chances of meeting him are so slim besides we agreed to stay as strangers. I am a married woman, I should not be messing around with another man even if my husband was fooling, I wouldn't use my body to get back at him.‘What if you fall in love with someone else, would you leave your husband for him?’ My wolf asked.‘Falling in love with another man after Zayn?’ Connor’s face falsed in my head. ‘Nahh, I must be out of my mind then.’It was way past my breakfast time, I hopped out of my bed feeling better than I did yesterday. I thought the alcohol was going to give me a serious hangover, surprisingly I’m good.I freshened up and
