Renee's POV

I instinctively put my hands out to protect myself from Joey in wolf form. He jumped out the window after me and I could tell we were going to collide.

His neck got caught on the chain of the shackles holding his head away from me. But it didn't stop his body from slamming into me as we fell to the ground.

Why did it feel like everything it was in slow motion? Must just the adrenaline? I grabbed his fur and pulled trying to change our position in the air. If he landed on top of me, I might be to injured and unable to run.

I successfully flipped our position before we landed on the ground with a thud. He whimpered in pain and was stunned. Luckily, I landed on the pillow of his body before springing up to run towards Ethan.
