An encounter

Ava's POV

Fernandez and I were partners again on the the training field as we clashed our swords against each other. "You're not getting any better." I said to him.

"Days without training with her royal majesty must have had it effects on me." he responded with a smirk on he face as he turned around thrusting his sword forward to my chest.

I moved aside dodging the blade of his sword. "It turns out, you're only perfect when you're with me." I said smugly.

He turned around swiftly to kick me and I evaded it. "You're right about that." he said smiling. Before I could say Jack Robbins he placed me on a spot I couldn't avoid getting trapped from.

The tip of his sword hovering at the side of my neck and my breath caught. "Surrender," he said to me.

"And why should I?" I asked staring at him.

"You should accept defeat." he said to me.

I curved a smile. "Need I refresh your memory that I, Ava, never accepts defeat." I said and with that I subdued him. I angled my head towards another
