I walked over to the stone coffin, my legs feeling like jelly. My hands were shaking as I reached for the lid, and I had to take a deep breath before I could actually push it open.

Please be okay. Please just be okay.

The lid was heavy as hell, but I managed to shove it to the side. I looked down, expecting to see Dad lying there, and my heart literally stopped.

Empty.

Well, not totally empty. There was this glowing crystal ball just floating at the bottom, pulsing with light like a heartbeat.

What the hell? Where is he?

"Valeria?" Zane moved closer, his hand on my back. "What is it?"

I reached down and touched the crystal ball. The second my fingers made contact, the whole room filled with Dad's voice.

"My daughter, if you're hearing this, it means you've awakened your royal bloodline."
