“We don’t know.” There was no point in lying about it. We didn’t, we had tried to figure it out but at the end of the day, Aiden was what he was.

Aiden shrugs his shoulders, “Pretty cool if you ask me.”

Knox shakes his head and turns to look at me, “really?”

“I’m not hiding anything from him,” I mutter. “He wants to know as much as we do.”

“Maybe there is no answer. He is the first of his kind isn’t he?” Knox queries

“Possibly, I don’t know.”

“You don’t know? You are the king?”

“It was only recently that I learned there are a lot more half-breeds living out there. For all I know, there are others like him.”

"What about the cull?" He asks quietly

"Obviously many were missed." I mutter annoyed. "Including my own father."

"What do you mean?"

"My father, fathered a half-breed. A shifter. The shifter that was with Lilah when you turned them away."

He stares at me with his dark eyes. "The old King didn't stand by his own orders?"
