Sleep takes Lilah before I get a chance to say anything. Her demand almost makes me smile. Yet the demand seemed so out of place for her.

I lay right next to her for the next few hours. Listening to the gentle, content snores coming from next to me. I wanted to stay with her all night. I wanted to watch her sleep but I still had the problem with Drake.

Quietly I move myself away from Lilah. Being careful not to disturb the bed too much. Her body flips over and she uses her arms to pull the pillow into her.

As I waited for Callie to arrive, I continued to watch my mate. I had vowed to protect her, yet, I was failing. It didn’t matter if they were coming after her or me. I would make sure that nothing else would touch her. I knew right then and there that I was willing to die for her.

I open the bedroom door before Callie gets a chance to knock. “Are you sure you are okay with this?”
