“I can’t just be whisked away by this handsome stranger and his two friends” I said to myself inwardly, “wasn’t he the lone fighter earlier at the tournament? I watched him break a man’s jaw - with his bare hands!”

My eyes widened with fear as I took a step back and he must have noticed because he smiled.

“I won’t hurt you, Hanni” he said, “you just have to trust me.”

But I just shook my head, refusing to believe him.

“Well, it’s either a cozy bed and a hot meal or be roped around a stick and be eaten with marshmallows by beasts of the night” he said leaving.

Beasts? Did he say beasts?

“WAIT!” I said, running to catch up with him, “if I can have your word about my safety, I will follow you.”

Like I have a choice.

“Don’t worry” he smirked, “I like my women willing.”

I rolled my eyes and followed closely behind, unsure of my destination and his intentions for me.

Did he say I am his mate?

No, I must have heard wrongly for I had been so enamored by his looks to hear what he had said earlier.

We walked past a bar where some wolves were drinking, upon sighting us, they lifted their jars high at the stranger, who in turn, smiled and waved back at them.

“Alfred.”

A shrill voice called from behind and we all turned back to see the owner of the voice - well, all except Alfred, who didn’t stop walking. I was taken aback momentarily by the she-wolf beauty, she looked like a goddess.

I stared at her as she ran pass me, her curves dancing to the rhythm of her steps as her long hair fly around like a veil for she is so beautiful.

I watched as she caught up with the stranger and held his hand.

“What is it Mira?” He growled, pulling his arm from her grip.

“I have missed you Alfred” she said, pouting her lips sexily at him.

“Andre, please escort my guest to my chambers, I will be there shortly” he said, looking at his beta.

Andre nodded and without a word, he held my arm and led me to the palace with Marcus following closely behind.

I glanced back briefly to see the beautiful she - wolf attempting to hug the stranger, but she was rudely shoved aside.

“We are almost home” his other friend - Marcus, smiled at me.

I looked ahead and gasp for it was a sight to behold, the palace stood majestic, towering high under the clouds with lights shimmering down on the pathway, giving it an eerie glow.

It was beautiful.

But it’s majestic features was nothing compared to the Alpha’s chambers. My jaw dropped instantly as I entered his quarters for I had never seen anywhere like it before. Everywhere screamed opulence from the large fur rug beside the gigantic bed to the art works on the wall….I couldn’t take it all and then I perceived it - Oud. The scent that woken my Lycan, Betty.

“Hello Betty” I said inwardly and she purred with satisfaction, ravishing in the sweet scent of the mystery stranger who is my mate.

I suddenly heard a chuckle from behind me, I quickly looked back to see the Alpha leaning on the door hinges, looking at me so intently with his left hand in his trousers pocket, looking like a Demi god.

“Get in” he said to the two ladies who had been standing behind him silently.

“These are your serving girls, they will help you get ready and when you done, come have dinner.”

“He can’t be serious!”

I exclaimed staring at the scanty piece of clothing dangling from my fingertips.

“It’s the Alpha’s orders ma’am, so you have to wear it” says one of the serving ladies as she kept staring at me clearly amused by my confusion.

I looked at the material again, it was all ropes and net. My face blushed at the thought of him seeing me in this outfit. He had an erection earlier, I saw that.

I smiled.

“Ma’am” one of the serving girls said, “please let us help you change into the lingerie, so that we all can go down, we are aware you don’t know your way, for you are a guest here.”

“No thank you, I can sort myself out and you also don’t have to wait up for me” I said dismissing them.

But I couldn’t possibly go down wearing this, it’s against my nature, for I will be unclad.

But I still wore it anyway, with the intention of looking for a robe or a jacket to cover my boobs peeking from the sides.

In my quest, I stumbled on a book kept on the table beside the bed and out of curiosity, I sat on the bed and opened it.

“You must be so tired”

I jerked awake to see a lone figure in the shadows, sitting on the sofa.

“A….Alpha?” I called out weakly.

I heard a sigh as he stood up and walked towards me.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you. I was expecting you down for dinner but as I didn’t see you, I decided to come check up on you only to find you asleep.”

“Oh” I said as I sat up. “ I didn’t mean to fall asleep, it just happened.”

“It’s fine sweetling” he smiled and gave me a knowing look, “but you must have something to eat, I promised you a hot meal and a warm bed, remember?”

He gestured to a serving girl standing silently in the shadows to bring in some food.

with light steps, he walked to his wardrobe and handed me a huge shirt to rope around my body, I had completely forgotten about my nudity and without thinking twice, I tucked my self in his shirt, his oud all around me.

There was an uncomfortable silence as we both sized each other up, drinking our scents in. He wore a dreamy look as he gazed at me with his deep brown eyes, running his right hand in his thick black hair, showcasing the wolf tattoo etched on his skin.

I gasped as I noticed him shirtless, with a claw scar on his chest. He caught me staring and gave me a lopsided grin with his chiseled face, making the thin scar close to his lips obvious, giving him a sexy look under the candlelight.

“Alpha?”

We were both jolted back to consciousness by the serving girl who had returned with dinner.

“Come in” he ordered and she briskly dropped the tray and left, obviously glad to be out of his presence.

I sat up and reached for the tray, but he had already taken it and after a while, he handed it over dissected and deboned and returned back to the sofa to sit and watch me intently as I eat with my face flushed.

Soon, I was done eating and stared at him, wondering what next because he had been staring at me without a word and I could see the wheels moving in his head - but not for long, because…..

“Sweetling” he clears his throat, “so tell me, who are you and where are you from?”
