When Sia opened her eyes, she was lying on her bed. A Robomedic was standing right next to her.
The moment she sat up, the Robomedic scanned her using laser rays and flashed a report on the screen opposite the bed.
Naira read the report and stated, “Your vitals are working well, ma’am. Now, I have to connect a video call to Mr. Zen.”
The memories flooded her mind, and her heart accelerated. What would she tell Mr. Ben?
“Naira,
She felt the wind slap against her body as the pace she was falling accelerated by the minute. But she wasn’t scared. Why should she be? She could finally plead her love for forgiveness. Her movement was obstructed abruptly. She was prepared to go through the tremendous pain she would go through if she didn’t die instantly. But nothing happened. She didn’t feel her skull crack, her bones break, or any pain. Had she died instantly, saving herself from all the torture? But how was this possible? Puzzled by the lack of sensation, she opened her eyes. The tall tower extended endlessly before her.
Sia slumped to the floor the moment the glass cabin closed. She clenched the hem of her trousers and let out a primal scream, “Ahhhhh…..”Her body convulsed as she cried her heart out, overcome by emotions. Her mournful whimpers and cries resounded in the cabin. Drowned in her misery, she didn’t realize when the cabin came to a halt. Sia was startled when someone jumped right in front of her. She scrambled to her feet and looked up reflexively.
“After pushing you off the cliff, I had tapped the SOS icon on his CID. The next moment I was surrounded by a protective enclosure that saved me from the inferno. But, the impact of the blast sent me into a coma, and I woke up only after a month.”Sia’s hands flew to her mouth as she exclaimed, “Gosh! One month.” Ron let out a deep sigh and said, “As soon as I could walk on my feet, I went to meet Mr. Ben and requested him to let me see your footage……”
Sia moved closer to Ron and grasped Ron’s hands before narrating her reply to Sam, “Once upon a time, I thought that I was in love with you, Sam, but… that was just an illusion. You supported me when I was at the lowest point of my life. So, I started associating every good thing with you. I imagined how beautiful life would look if I could spend each moment with you. That is the reason I wanted to have you in my life. But, when I met R, I understood the meaning of true love. His love liberated me rather than binding me. His love made me the best version of myself…”“‘But, he is dead now, r
Sia tried to stay calm, zoning out the grunts, heartbeats, and heavy breathing. She browsed through the names one by one and finally found Ron. Thankfully he worked under Mr. Ben. Else it would have been more challenging to figure it out. She sent him an SOS message, and within moments the door opened. Sia was so relieved to see him that she ran and jumped right into his arms. Ron secured the door properly and then started walking.“Ron, please take me to Bennison’s Palace. I am feeling so drained. I
“This is one of my old projects, Jay…. Ummm…. I guess before I went to the island. I created mutants by modifying the clones with traits of animals while in the construction stage. I was naïve back then. When I realized that these creatures could be very dangerous if they fall into the wrong hands, I sneaked them here and forged papers indicating that they all died due to a lung failure.”Jay let out a sigh of relief and said, “God knows what Mr. Ben would have done with them.”
Sia stretched her arms, then twiddled her toes, stretching her legs as much as possible. A yawn escaped her mouth as she threw off her covers. She brushed her teeth and washed her face. Then, for a few minutes, she stood there looking at herself. She couldn’t believe how far she had come in the journey of her life, from being an introvert who tried hard to get lost in the background to a confident girl who embraced her looks and identity. She was proud of the decisions she had taken, even though they didn’t turn out as she had expected. Her lips stretched in a wide smile when she realized she could meet Ron again.
Jay didn’t notice Sia’s hand move to her CID. The next moment Jay was bent over his knees, screaming with pain. He broke out in cold sweat, and his body shook like a leaf. Sia knew that this would last for only a few moments. So she quickly pushed him on the chair and tapped the ‘bind’ icon. Before Jay could understand what had hit him, he was effectively bound to the chair. Sia sauntered to her chair and sat down slowly. Then she said with a sweet smile, “Game Over!”
