Chapter 1 You Can Have the Master Bedroom

Author: Explosive King
Comments flooded the live chat.

'Is she dumb or what? Why isn't she grabbing the cash already? He's got HIV for god's sake!'

'Girl, it's 50 million. You don't need to worry for the rest of your life!'

I kept my head low. My shoulders were trembling slightly. To Jesse Fleming, I seemed to be shaking from rage, but I was actually suppressing my laughter.

Since he was about to die, all his wealth would eventually be mine. So why should I just walk away with 50 million?

"Sarah Fulton!" Jesse looked at me with disgust as I tore the papers into pieces.

"You're pushing your luck. 50 million isn't enough for you? Don't forget how you got into my bed in the first place." His undisguised contempt dragged old memories to the surface.

Indeed, I was the other woman who won. I clawed my way past all his lovers and forced out his first wife.

When she left, she cursed me viciously, saying that a heartless man like Jesse could abandon me for someone else tomorrow, just as he had abandoned her.

I merely laughed it off. Over the years, I used his influence to build a career, almost forgetting that dirty past completely—until he brought home that street girl, Gina Petersen.

He bragged to his friends, "You guys have no idea. Gina used to be so defiant, but after I trained her, she became so obedient."

Thinking back, the whole thing felt absurd.

"Sarah, I don't have time for this." Jesse's voice snapped me back to reality.

I looked up with reddened eyes brimming with shattered devotion. "I don't want money, Jesse. I want you."

The disdain in his gaze deepened. "Drop the manipulative act."

Just as tension hit its peak, the door swung open. Gina strutted in on heels. Her once fiery red hair had been dyed sleek black. She was trying hard to play the perfect innocent girl Jesse liked.

"You shameless old hag," she snapped. "Still trying to cling to Jesse? Look at yourself in the mirror. You're just an old, vain parasite. Take the money and get out already!"

Toward the end, she noticed Jesse frowning and instantly changed her tone. Tears welled in her eyes as she rushed to his side and clung to his arm.

"I'm sorry, Jesse. I was mean. I shouldn't have spoken so harshly. It's just that my heart aches for you. I don't want you being bothered by women like her."

Jesse clearly liked what he heard. The annoyance in his eyes vanished, replaced by indulgent admiration.

He then looked at me. "Gina changed for me. She's kind and innocent deep down. But look at you. Over the three years we've been together, you've just become more calculating."

The live chat was rolling.

'Whoa. She nailed the innocent act. She was still partying at a club last night!'

'More importantly, she gave Jesse HIV! She's evil.'

Jesse once again slid the new divorce papers toward me. "Cut the nonsense. Sign it."

Just then, his phone rang, and he got up to answer it on the side. Only Gina and I were left in the living room. The innocent look on her face vanished immediately and was replaced with smug provocation.

She tugged at her collar, revealing the dark marks on her neck. "See that? Jesse can't get enough of me. He says I'm way more fun than a dead fish like you."

The live chat exploded once more. 'Holy cow! Those are HIV rashes. This psycho is spreading it everywhere!'

I felt like puking. Jesse was filthy beyond belief.

However, I maintained a courteous smile. "Men like to have fun. You're just his newest obsession. If you're capable, keep him entertained for the rest of his life."

Viewers were incredulous.

'Did I hear her right? Is Sarah a saint? She's refusing the divorce and encouraging her husband to keep a mistress.'

'She deserves what comes her way for staying with him!'

Jesse returned from his call to see Gina and me standing face-to-face, so he assumed I had been bullying her.

Just as he was about to raise his voice, I flashed him a smile and said in my most humble voice, "Since Jesse loves you so much, I won't go against him. It's fine. I'll move out of the master bedroom. You can have it instead, Ms. Petersen. I'll take the guest room."

The moment the words left my mouth, both of them froze.

The live chat also lost its mind. "Giving the mistress the master bedroom? Is she insane? I can't believe this!"

Satisfaction replaced the rage in Jesse's eyes. I noticed the red marks on his neck and turned away with a knowing smile.

Late that night, while muffled sounds drifted out from the master bedroom, I calmly dialed the butler, Collin Wiley's, number. "Collin, buy some herbal tonic tomorrow. Something for stamina. After all, I can't let him wear himself out."

"Sarah, you vicious woman…" Jesse used the last of his strength to curse me. His voice was low and hoarse. The live chat remained as active as ever, clearly amused by the scene.'Jesse is ruined at this point. What's the point of taking care of him? He has nothing left except a failing body!''You don't understand sunk cost, do you? Since things can't go back, she might as well keep playing the good wife and build herself a perfect reputation."'Come on, girls. Sarah won't get much money even if he dies. The Fleming elders transferred most of their assets long ago.'At that moment, a message in bold font appeared in the chat room.'Friends, I have inside information. There's an offshore trust fund worth thirty billion under Jesse's name. He's the only person who knows the one-time password. Every wrong attempt burns ten percent of the funds.'I paused at the revelation.'Thirty billion, they say?'I looked at the mess on the bed and approached him with a smile."Are you havin

At that critical moment, my phone rang. It was a call from the ICU."Ms. Fulton, Old Mr. Fleming had a heart attack earlier. He didn't make it."The police sealed off the area and arrested Jordan and Gina for causing intentional harm.As Gina was escorted past me, she glared at me with venom in her eyes. "You did this, didn't you? You set us up!"I didn't even bother to look her way. I focused on wiping the blood from Jesse's face; my voice remained as gentle as ever. "I don't understand what you're accusing me of, Gina. But don't worry. I'll hire the best lawyer to make sure you have plenty of time to reflect in prison."Before Jesse slipped into unconsciousness, his lips parted slightly as if he wanted to say something to me.I leaned down close to his face and whispered, "Rest assured, Jesse. Your time isn't up yet. I'll claim you've developed a mental disorder and take the right to dispose of property from you. "Then, you'll spend the rest of your life in the most luxurio

My suggestion stunned them both. The live chat was laughing.'Sarah put two disasters in the same room. One wants a son, and the other wants to climb the social ladder. She turned the hospital room into a battlefield.''Damn, Sarah. That's ruthless. She's making sure they torture each other until they fall apart together.'Jesse stared at me in disbelief. "Don't you mind?"Tears welled in my eyes within a second, impressing even myself. "I can endure everything as long as you get better and your family has a successor."My words moved Jesse. He turned to yell at Gina. "Did you hear Sarah? She's kind enough to tolerate you. Don't you dare to try anything funny, or else I'll strangle you myself."Despite the threat, greed won over Gina's fear. She quickly put on a smile and flattered me. "You're so kind, Sarah. In that case, I'll accept the kind offer."I left the room and closed the door.…What happened in the room over the following days was more entertaining than any soap

After leaving the Fleming residence, I headed to the company.I tossed the termination letter on Jesse's most trusted special assistant's face.Silence enveloped the room. The executives who had once looked down upon me didn't dare to say a word."Sarah, you're only Mr. Fleming's substitute. You have no right to fire us!" His face was flushed with indignation as he protested.I toyed with the fountain pen in my hand. I almost laughed when I remembered that Jesse had given it to me on our wedding anniversary last year."Why not? He has given me the carte blanche and the official seal." I smiled at him.I made a gesture at the door. The new team I had personally promoted walked into the room and replaced the old executives one by one.The live chat was discussing my decision.'Sarah slays again! She eliminates the root cause to avoid trouble.''This is expected from an apex predator. She took advantage of the situation and reaped the benefits.''It's too early to celebrate. Di

In the isolation room of a suburban private hospital, the smell of disinfectant filled the air.Jesse curled up on the bed. His usually immaculate hair was now a mess. In just a short time, he had lost a frightening amount of weight, and even his eyes looked sunken. When he saw me enter the room, he scrambled to his feet and threw himself at the window."Help me, Sarah! The doctors lied to me! They said I only have a few years left to live! But you know so many top doctors. You must have a way to save me, right?"I looked at the pathetic man behind the glass and put on a sorrowful expression.I said nothing. Instead, I raised a trembling hand to the glass, tracing his features from behind the barrier. The live chat disagreed with my behavior.'I can't believe it! He's still playing victim at this point! Run, Sarah! You need to stay away from him!''Come on, Sarah. Don't let him fool you! Don't you remember that he threatened to end your grandmother's life? You should just leave

The report crumpled in Jesse's hand."Are you out of your mind, Sarah?" he accused in a low voice, forcing the threat through gritted teeth. "Did you forge this disgusting report just to spite me? Just to stop me from divorcing you?"Then, he tore the report apart. Shreds of paper scattered across the stage.Gina finally snapped out of her trance. Her face turned pale, but she quickly found security in Jesse's arms."Jesse, it's only because Sarah loves you deeply that she stooped so low and took such an extreme measure. There's no way you can get such a disease! She's trying to embarrass you!"The guests began to exchange whispers among themselves and shot us judgmental looks.I stood on the stage and stared at the devoted lovers. A ghost of a cruel smile curled my lips. "Do you think I forged it?"
