My immediate thought was, “This woman gives the best hugs.”

Then Onyx came alive for a moment, “She is going to be an important figure in your life. She is a beautiful soul and so is her wolf. Trust her with our life. I must go back to sleep. I need rest for our shift.”

I smiled, “It’s very nice to meet you.” I hugged Grandpa Joshua and he was just as comfortable. Grandpa Joshua smiled, “It’s very nice to meet you too.”

I could tell Grandma Izzy was going to be a great source of comfort when we needed it.

Just then, Queen Winnie popped in, “Hello, my dear!” I smiled, “Hello, Queen Winnie. I’m happy you came for dinner!”

Onyx pushed forward and smiled, “Welcome friend. I can’t wait to work with you!”

Queen Winnie smiled, “I can’t wait to see you again too, sweet pup.”

Onyx huffed and retreated into my mind, a little butthurt from being called a pup.

I chuckled and gave her a mental eye roll, “I don’t think she likes being called a pup.”

Queen Winnie winked, “Why do y
