Chapter 15
Aida rested her hand on the hard rock at the entrance of the cave to take a breath. She took her flask out of her leather bag and drank a few sips of water. All this effort to climb had brought her thirst.
She quenched her thirst and kept her flask in the bag again. She stared into the cave, which was dimly lit by a few torches, thousands of memories flooded her mind and her eyes filled with tears of emotion. In this cave, she had lived badly, good but also delighted moments.
She wiped her eyes from the tears, took a deep breath, and began to walk inward.
After going some distance, she started calling her husband:
