Chapter four: Jealous

Two weeks ago,

I’m still confused whether Matt likes me for real or not.” She planted the last flower in the backyard. “I’m also uncertain about my feelings for him.” She stood up satisfied with her job. “You love nature, huh?” Mia said as Stella turned to her direction. “You are the only good person to me in this big house, including Matt and Sam.”

Mia tilted her head. “Matt!” She finally realized her mistake. “Mr. Matt.” She awkwardly smiled at her. “I know what’s going on between you too. I saw him multiple times leaving your room” Stella gulped when she heard Mia’s statement. “Don’t worry. I’ll keep it as a secret, but you should be more careful. Mrs. Emma is the definition of evil, believe me.”

“Mr. Matt needs you.” A maid rushed towards Stella. Mia winked at her as she walked away.

“Come on in.” She heard him yell after she knocked the door. He pulled her inside just as she opened the door, pushing her against the wall. “I always end up being cornered between your grips.” She looked at him with a challenging stare. “Are you complaining or enjoying it?” He smirked. “Don’t be a freak.” She said still looking into his eyes. “I’m addicted to you.” She tried to escape from his grip but he blocked her way. “Your wife can come at any second, we should be more careful. Mia already knows what’s going on between us.”

He held her chin up ignoring her warning. “Do you like me?” her legs weakened, and she finally avoided looking at him. “No.” He smirked before smashing his lips against hers. He then pulled away and whispered between their lips. “I know you do. Your eyes told me that.”

She pushed him hard this time. However he grabbed her hand and led her near the nightstand. He gave her a phone. “Take it, princess. I bought it for you and I already placed a new Sim card. Throw your old devise.” He smiled at her.

They suddenly heard footsteps getting closer. “Hide into the dressing room.” The door swung open after she hid. “I want to talk to you Matt.” His mother walked inside. “Sure.” She sat down. “About the hotel, I think I should let Emma take care of it. I’m starting to get tired.” He sat next to her and grabbed her hand. “Dad built that hotel for you. Therefore, you are the only one who can give orders there.” They both heard a sneeze coming from the dressing room. “Shit.” They both cursed internally.

“Who’s there?” She opened the door, revealing Stella. She acted as if she was cleaning the area. “Dusty, huh?” Matt said as he tried to hide his frustration. She looked at both of them with suspicious eyes. “I finished cleaning Mr. Matt.” She then rushed outside.

Stella sprang towards the kitchen. She opened the fridge and took something to eat. “Miss Stella eats like a princess, while all of us are working hard.” A maid said as they were preparing for dinner. “Yes, she is the favorite maid. She only works for Mr. Matt.” Stella had enough of them. She stood up brutally and moved dangerously closer to them. “I warn you, don’t make me break your teeth.”

Olivia the middle aged came in. “How dare you talk to them like this? Where are your manners?” She screamed at her. “They started talking bad to me.” Matt accidently heard the conversation as he got closer to the kitchen. “You are a normal maid, just like all of them. Don’t act like you are different.” She kept raising her voice.

“Olivia!” Matt joined in. “What is happening here?” He looked at them one by one. “Nothing-” She begun but he stopped her. “I want to make something clear. Don’t you dare hurt Stella, and if one of you does, you will be fired.”

“Don’t worry, Matt.” Olivia said. She raised him since he was young and she loves him as her son. She is also responsible for all the other maids.

Olivia brought a tea for Emma, she then sat beside her. “Something weird happened today.” Emma looked at her confusingly. “Matt defended the maid Stella when I was scolding her and he also warned us to stay away from her.” She continued. Emma broke the cup of tea near the swimming pool.

“Who keeps texting you?” Sam asked her when everyone was around the kitchen. Her smile faded away after she looked up at him. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. “Are you okay?” She seemed concerned at his reaction. “Who is this person that draws a smile on your face every day?” She raised an eye brow “That’s my private life, okay?” She said.

“I’m sorry.” He caressed her hand. “I want to talk to you privately about something.” She removed her hand away and looked deep in his eyes. “If you have anything to say, then do it right here.” She answered. “I can’t here. I need to show you something at night.”

“Okay, I got to go back to my room now.”

At dinner,

“Emma, prepare yourself. We are invited at a party.” He announced while avoiding eye contact with her. A maid rushed to the kitchen to inform the other ones. Stella was eating, when she heard the news, she almost chocked on her food. “Not that I’m jealous or something, but I can’t stand seeing that stupid bitch Emma with Matt.” She thought.

She sprang towards her room gritting her teeth. She paced back and forth crossing her arms in her tiny bedroom.

After dinner, Stella watched through the window as Matt and Emma left the house. She sat on her bed and decided to read a book. After about two hour, Sam knocked on her door. “Are you ready?” He grinned. “Ready for what?” she grumbled. “Come with me.” He pulled her hand and rushed outside. “Stop pulling my hand.” They walked through the backyard till they reached the beautiful greenhouse filled with flowers and plants.

“Why are we here?” She stepped backwards as he opened the glass door. The inside was dark and there was no way she got there with him alone. “Don’t be scared. I got this for you.” He showed her a camera. “Take as much pictures as you want.” At first she hesitated to enter, but then she glanced around the area and noticed how beautiful the flowers look even when they were only illuminated by the outdoor wall lamps. She took the camera and walked around the place, taking pictures from different angle.

Matt and Emma came back home so early. “Where is Stella?” He asked Mia. “I was Sam dragging her to the backyard.” She said, waiting for him to react. Indeed, he seemed irritated. “Fuck him.” He cursed as he clenched his fists.

Stella felt a hand sliding through her hips. She brutally turned around with a raging glare. “What the hell are you doing?” She gasped stepping backwards, but was soon cornered against the glass window. “Stella, I like you.” He leaned in to kiss her. He was cut by a sudden open door sound.

Matt!” She sighed in relief. “What the fuck are you doing?” He pushed Sam on the floor and connected his fist with his cheek. “Don’t ever think of getting closer to her again.” Stella grabbed his shoulder to cool him down. “Stop it Matt.” He looked at her with dark eyes. “Go back to your room, right now.” He growled.

She sat on her bed, fidgeting with her hands. She knew what going to happen next and she didn’t even lock her door. She flinched at the sound of the door swinging open. He closed the door behind him and locked in while facing her with his body.

She stood up as he moved like a snake to her direction. He loosened his tie and rolled his sleeves up to his elbows. “Matt.” She whispered softly closing her eyes as he closed the space between them. “Why are you closing your eyes?” He asked as he grabbed her waist. “I know you are mad.” He smirked and held her chin up. “Open your eyes.” He watched her carefully as she did. “Your eyes are the reason I’m in love with you.” Her eyes popped up and her heart pounded out of her chest. “Y-you love m-me?” She stumbled over words. “Isn’t this too obvious? And I know you do too.”

She pushed him, and then moved near the window. “Did you enjoy the night with the stupid expired coupon?” She crossed her arms as she heard loud chuckles behind her back. “Expired coupon? You mean Emma?” He asked. “Isn’t that too obvious?” She mimicked him, rolling her eyes.

Suddenly the room was filled with silence. He approached her and slid his hands through her crossed arms. He placed his chin on her shoulder, looking at her side face. She closed her eyes once again and loosened her arms. “Are you jealous?” He murmured. “I don’t know.”

He turned her around to face him. The two stared into each other’s eyes before connecting their lips. Time stopped as they went from a delicate kiss to a burning one. They moved around the tiny room, stumbling over things to finally pushing her onto the bed.

His phone rang in his pocket, but he ignored it and kept kissing her. “Pick up.” She mumbled as they stopped kissing to breathe.

“It’s Emma.” He groaned as he got off her. She patted his arm to comfort him. “You have to go.” He stroked her cheek then whispered near her ear. “I love you princess.” His voiced sent shivers down her spine. She froze as he left the room with a smirk.

Olivia caught him walking out of Stella’s room. She covered her mouth while walking inside her room.

Fuck. I guess I’m in love with him.” She bundled up under the blanket, closing her eyes.
