Chapter three: New Feelings

“Did your wife call you to go home?” She raised an eyebrow when he suddenly took off his shirt. “I don’t want to sleep at home tonight. I already told her that. I want to stay here.” She looked around the room. “There is only one bed. How is that possible?” She asked. “We share it.” He smirked.

He built a wall of pillows between them. Her heart pounded out of her chest as she lay back on bed. “D-don’t touch me. Is that clear?” She cleared out. “Why are you stumbling over words?” He joked. She turned back to his side. “Will you shut the fuck up?” She raged. “Oh, I’m sorry.” He laughed. “You look cute when you are mad.” She faced him with her back again. “I’m already uncomfortable in this tight dress. Stop bothering me.” She closed her eyes.

She got curious to why he didn’t reply back. She turned around once again. He had his hand supporting his head and his elbow on bed. He smiled to her as soon as they eyes meet. She twirled her head with her finger to ease nervousness. “I want to ask you something?” She said trying to ease the tension in the room. “Sure.” He smirked. “What the fuck is wrong with this guy? And his smile…What the hell am I thinking of?” She thought.

“Ask me.” He snapped her out of her thoughts. “Um, you didn’t answer me earlier when I asked you if you love your wife.” She noticed his smiled fading away. “You don’t have to answer-” He suddenly placed his finger on her lips. “I don’t love her. You have to sleep.” He turned the other way closing eyes. “Why did he act like that? I shouldn’t have asked him.” She closed her eyes and decided to sleep.

The next day,

Matt left the hotel while Stella was sleeping. He headed directly home to prepare for work. “Where’s the black suit I bought last time?” he called one of the maids to his room. “You didn’t ask me to prepare it, sir!” The girl seemed confused. “I did.” He shouted “you mean I’m a liar, huh?” His eyes were full of rage for no reason.

“I didn’t mean that-”She looked down with shaking legs. “You are fired.”

Emma came in as she heard him yelling.”What is happening here?” She asked. “Don’t get involved into this.” He ordered. “I need to know what happened, Matt.” This time she raised her voice. “She is not doing her job accordingly.” He walked towards the dressing room. “You don’t have the right to fire maids. This is my responsibility.” He dangerously came closer to her with a red face. “This is my house. Stop acting like you own everything.”

Matt tried to cool himself down as he drove to his office. Once he arrived, John followed him inside. “Close the door behind you. I have something to tell you.”

“What’s up?” He posed his arm on the desk. “I accidently met a girl and now I’m thinking about her all the time.” He said while looking at his jaw dropping friend. “Will you explain more?” He gave him an awkward smile. “2 days ago, I saved a girl from someone who wanted to hurt her. I took her to my mother’s hotel.”

“What happened between you and her?” He questioned with suspicious eyes. “Nothing. I just kissed her.” He admitted, while John looked at him as if he was insane “Don’t give me this look, John. I couldn’t resist her. She drove me crazy with her intense stare.”

“Last time you lied when you said you love Emma, huh?” Matt looked down at the papers on his desk. “I’ll take this as a yes. I really want you to be happy, but be careful. Don’t cheat on your wife, not because of love but think about your reputation.” He concluded.

He received a phone call. “Mom!” He answered.

“Who’s the girl in room?” She asked.

“She is a friend of John.” John sent him a dead glare as his friend lied.

“Matt!” John said after he hung up. “Damn, I warned the workers not to tell her.” He brutally pushed the papers of the desk. “That’s all you can do? Getting mad and let problems consume you?” He scolded him.

“What will you do now?” He asked when Matt slammed one hand against the window and holding his forehead with the other one. “I already planned something with her. She will work as a maid at my house.”

“Under the same roof? Close enough to you and your wife?” He walked closer to his friend. “That’s the only way to keep her safe.” He said. “Why do you care about her safety?”

“I like her.” He admitted.

“That escaladed too fast, ya know?” He patted his friend’s shoulders. “Dude, your way of thinking changed completely because of this girl. I’m really curious to meet her.” He continued.

In the afternoon,

Matt bought some clothes for Stella before heading straight to meet her. “Here,” He gave her the bag. “I bought you some clothes. I hope they fit you.” She smiled.

Once they went downstairs, Matt noticed his mother walking to the reception area. “That’s my mother.” He quickly pulled Stella behind the wall. Their faces were inches apart as his eyes traveled back and forth to her eyes and lips. “Let’s use the garage door to escape.”

“Matt is here, ma’am.” The receptionist informed Mrs. Garcia. “Hm, did he come by himself?” She frowned. “Yes. He walked directly into the elevator.”

He took her directly to their house. “It’s an immense mansion…4 times bigger than my house.” She said with popping eyes as she got up of the car.

As they entered, Matt asked the maids to gather to introduce Stella. Emma walked closer to them with a magazine in her hand. “Who is she?” She started at her from head to toe. “I replaced the other maid. From now on, she will be the one taking care of my stuff.” He looked at all maids one by one. “You fired a maid and now you bring a beautiful girl that doesn’t look like normal maids!” She placed her hands on her hips. “Emma!” He groaned in annoyance.

“Let’s talk for a second.” She said as she walked inside the office room. “Give her a maid suit and show her around the house.” He ordered one of the maids before joining Emma.

“It’s okay to bring maids, but how can be this beautiful? What kind of wife can accept this?” She shouted as she hyperventilated while he stayed calm. “I’m seriously starting to believe you didn’t spend last night with just a friend. Not mentioning the most expensive suit thing.”

“Shut up. You are getting on my fucking nerves.” He ended up losing his temper. She grabbed his arm before he left the room. “Don’t ruin your reputation.” She warned him. “You are worried about your social status, aren’t you?” He replied back. “Your mother won’t be happy when she gets home.” He pushed her hand away and left the room.

Mrs. Garcia came back home as the maids served the food. After a moment, she joined Matt and Emma. “A new maid!” She exclaimed when she noticed Stella. “I brought her. She will be in charge of my daily needs.”

Being wise, she stayed silent and ate delicately. “Say something please.” Emma insisted but she ignored her. Instead, she earned a dead glare from Matt.

At midnight,

As everyone was sleeping, Matt took the chance to see Stella. She was taking pictures of the flowers illuminated by the exterior lightning on her window. Matt knocked the door impatiently. “What the hell are you doing here?” She took a look outside her room, but he pushed her inside and pinned her against the wall as he closed the door. “I was impatient to see you again.” Brows brought together and the jaw clenched, he examined her facial expressions in the dark “What the fuck are you doing, Matt?” Their eyes moved from their eyes to each other’s lips.

“Shh, don’t say anything.”He pressed his forehead on hers “What were you doing?” He asked as he tucked her behind her ear. “I was t-taking pictures of the flowers.” He smirked when he heard her stutter. “Do you love flowers?” She looked down at her hands that were pressed against his chest. “Yes, a lot.” He tilted her chin up to make her meet their intense gaze. An instant later, he brushed his lips against hers with a breathy kiss.

After few seconds, she pulled away with a shaking exhale. “We shouldn’t be doing that.” He suddenly let his forehead dropped into her neck. “Matt!” She was confused at his sudden action. “Will you stay silent for a moment? I want to hear your heartbeats.”

They both jumped in their spot when someone knocked on her door. They were both frustrated, but he soon calmed her down. “Act chill.” He ordered as he held her cheeks.

Matt hid behind the door, while she opened the door just enough to so who it was. “Sam!” the car driver smiled at her. “I saw you taking pictures from your window. We have the same hobby.” She gave him an awkward smile. “Can I get inside?” He asked. “Uh, I’m sorry but I have to sleep now.” He pressed his hand on the wall to make a sexy pose. “You look pretty.” She swallowed hard before smiling awkwardly again. “Thank you Sam. You should go now.” She watched him walking off, and then went back inside.

“I’m going to kill him.” Matt clenched his jaw and beat the wall with his fast. “Why are you raging? She grabbed his hand and looked at it. “Why did you hurt yourself?” she looked back at him with the same intense stare. He slammed her against the wall once again with a dangerous look in his eyes. “You are mine.” Her body froze in the spot, feeling butterflies in her stomach.

“I better go now or I’ll do something bad.” She watched him walking to the door with dangerous moves. She sighed once he closed the door behind him.
