Charlotte’s POV

The car rolled to a stop outside the grand ballroom, and my heartbeat climbed straight to my throat.

Through the tinted glass, I could already see the flood of guests… the shimmer of sequins, the glitter of champagne flutes, the soft hum of strings and laughter. Every second the car door stayed closed, my nerves coiled tighter.

Hayden sat beside me, perfectly composed, hands resting lightly on his cane. Even without sight, he looked devastatingly in control. Calm. Unbothered. Unreadable.

Meanwhile, my palms were slick with sweat.

“You’re quiet,” he said at last, his voice smooth and low. “Cold feet?”

“Try heart attack,” I muttered, clutching my clutch so tightly I thought it might snap in two.

His lips curved faintly. “Relax. You’re supposed to be glowing.”

“I am glowing,” I said sharply. “From panic.”

That earned a quiet chuckle from him, deep enough to send heat crawling up my spine. “You worry too much about appearances.”

“Easy for you to say. You’re not walking int

Charlotte's point of view My eye was twitching out of anger as I looked at him. He gave me a toothy grin as if to annoy me even more before taking a step back. In the past, I might have felt my knees turn into jelly. That was the smile that would have made me swoon. It didn't, nothing but irritate me now. “Come on now, you should be happy to see me.”I sneered. “Seeing you only brings back bad memories, Jacob. Having you wiped off the face of Earth might just make me happy.”His narrowed his eyes, before bringing up his hand to my face. I slapped it off before it could even get close to me. “You can look for someone else to act your drama with. I'm definitely not about to play a party to it.”The woman at the counter handed me the bag that had their name inscribed on it. “Your dress, ma'am,” she said in a sweet tone. That was the most she could after watching all the drama that just happened in front of her. I took the dress, wrapping my hands around the handle. Jacob quickly exte

  • For The Blind Billionaire    Information

Hayden's POV I couldn't help but miss the feel of her as she got up in the morning to do her check the waters outside. I could feel her staring at the sea through the glass sliding windows. My phone rang on the side table. I tracked the sound, placing my hands on the sides of the table, tapping lightly until I was able to locate the slightly round edges of my phone. I picked it up before I stopped vibrating. I swiped right, pressing my phone to my ear. “Hello, sir,” the voice came on the other end. I recognized it immediately. It was the detective that I hired to find out everything that had to do with the twins. As far as I knew, one was loud, challenging, confident, a spender. The other was the opposite. More ambitious. And one of them was my wife. “Were you able to find anything?” I asked. I trusted the man with getting information that important. But I was still nervous. For the first time in a long time. “Of course, sir,” he said, and I could finally breathe, waiting to hea

Charlotte's POV I should have been the one leading Hayden into the house. But this time, it was the other way around. “You don't have to feel bad,” he said, making me look up at him. “I'm not feeling bad. At least, I'm still our eyes.” I lied. If I were some genie, he would have been seeing properly, and riding a bike around town by now. “You are. Your breathing was slowed. Hesitant.”I gave him a small smile that didn't reach my eyes. “You should probably stop paying so much attention to me. Or are you forgetting that this marriage is fake?” The words felt bitter in my mouth. But that didn't stop me from feeling like a fake myself. The way I was trying to dress. The way I was trying to speak. The name that I was trying to take up. He cocked an eyebrow, turning to look at me. There it was. His heavy gaze again. Unfocused, yet holding me down. I looked away immediately. “You shouldn't be looking at me like that.” I whispered. He let out a small but sad chuckle. “Is that what you

  • For The Blind Billionaire    About Time

Cecilia's POV I knew it was going to work out. But I didn't think it was going to be that easy. A small smile spread on my lips as she collapsed on Hayden's body, and went silent. “Charlotte!” Hayden practically screamed, as he wrapped his arms around her in a protective manner. “She's not responding.” The gesture pierced my chest harder than it should. She didn't deserve any of that. All she had done all her life was steal what was mine. Trying to walk in my footsteps. Charlotte deserved a lowlife. Someone like her. “She fainted,” I said in an exaggerated panicked tone. “I'll get people to help her.”I stood up, heading outside the theater. I turned back one more time to make sure that he wasn't following me. The blind man was smarter than people that had eyes. “Hello, how can I help you?” The lady at the counter asked me with a smile. “A cup of diet coke, please,” I said, plastering the sweetest smile I could muster on my face. She handed me the styrofoam cup as I paid for it

  • For The Blind Billionaire    Man Behind

Charlotte's POV I forgot the name of the movie immediately it flashed right before my eyes. There was something wrong about everything, but I couldn't place what exactly what it was. “Is something wrong, Char?” Cecilia asked in a tone that made me want to grab the sleeve of her dress and beg her to tell me what was she was trying to do, but I wasn't doing any of that. I plastered a smile on my face instead. “Everything is fine,” I said in a stiff tone. Hayden's head tilted in my direction. “Do you want to leave? You're tense,” he whispered low enough for only me to hear. “Too late, the doors have been locked. They don't open up until the movie's credits start to roll. Now, can we all keep quiet and watch it?” I found it slightly offensive that Cecilia was even listening to our conversation, but I wanted to let her have it. She was trying to fix things. The least I could do was be nice to her as well. Hayden's hand landed right on mine, covering it with an assuring squeeze that

Charlotte's POV “Seems your progress with your sister wasn't small”. The rough and commanding voice of Heyden sounded softly almost like a passing wind.I wasn't aware when he entered the room but observing that calm face of his, like his statement was just passing thought, I asked. “How much did you hear”. My heart tensed up at the thought of him hearing how I accepted to go out without a confirmation from him.Sensing my upbeated heart riming in tension, he acted like he didn't notice. “Not much, just enough to know you want me to come with you to somewhere”.Hmmf breathing down in relief, then remembering that the person in front of me was not my ex Jacob, that restricted me of every privilege, including freedom of movement. And was rather Heyden Maxwell the richest youngest and most handsome man to ever walk earth.Shaking my head as my lips curled up a bit in pride It felt good that he calls me his wife even if I'm hiding under the veil of deception.“You're smiling, did I say a
