His grandfather bustled about making calls, putting on a friendly voice for whoever answered, but when he got an answer he didn't want, his expression turned sour. His father stood by the window, calling one person and then the next. His mother, though, was the most dramatic of them all, as she did nothing but cry. His eyes gleamed with mockery as he watched them. Unbelievable that they should be so worried about his older brother, Jesse, who, as they all feared, had been kidnapped, but was found to have run away with some guy. But Evan wasn't about to tell them that; they would never believe him. They always favored Jesse and treated him like he was fragile and sweet, because as a child he had been sickly. In reality, Jesse's frailty was his own fault, since he avoided any type of exercise whatsoever. As Evan grew older, he realized that the reason Jesse resented him was simply because he existed, not for anything he had done. Jesse had despised the idea of sharing the love and attention of the family and would often feign illnesses. When Evan was much younger, he yearned for the approval of his family and tried very hard to gain their affection. The disappointments had toughened him over time, and now he expected nothing from them. So long as they kept paying such basic needs as tuition, allowance, and a place to stay, he simply didn't care anymore. At least they'd never denied him that. Evan was a final-year student in the country's best university, studying medicine, but his parents never liked this decision as they wanted him to take up music like Jesse, the award-winning violinist who made many acknowledge the family for good things. Unlike Jesse, his talented brother, Evan was seen as the odd one out. “Evan, don't you know where your brother is?" his mother asked, her voice shaking. "You just sit there while all of us are worried to death!” A slight smirk curled Evan's lips. "Mom, I've told you a thousand times. I have no idea where your precious son is," he said coldly. Long ago, he stopped caring about their feelings, his heart held no love for his family, just indifference. And the only person he ever cared for was someone he couldn't have: Nathan Collins who just happened to be Jesse's boyfriend. Funny, huh? Evan was in love with his brother's boyfriend. Sometimes he thought he was just so cursed that he was to live his life in Jesse's shadow. But he had learned to deal with it. After he graduated and started working, he intended to cut ties with his family once and for all. That was why he'd been saving all his money to open his private clinic and finally be free. His mother let out a heavy sigh. "Why are you being so cold? I was just asking because you two are brothers, and he might have told you something." Evan snorted. "Brothers? We are more like strangers," he said while getting up to leave. "If you don't believe me, fine. I'm going to class." "Where are you going? How can you be so uncaring while your brother might have been kidnapped?" his grandfather's stern voice rang out. His fists were clenched hard to keep himself cool, he whirled around, placed a forced smile on his face, and said, "Kidnapped? Let's not kid ourselves, Grandpa. I'm going off to class. You can keep looking for Jesse," before walking just out, ignoring the shouting behind his back. Even as he stepped outside, his grandfather's angry voice still echoed, "Look at the kind of son you've raised! It's no wonder, being brought up by an uneducated nanny!" The words didn't bother Evan. True enough, he had been brought up by a nanny, but she was the only one who ever looked after him. She taught him how to walk, how to speak, and even how to use cutleries. She had retired years ago, but Evan would still visit her during holidays. She was childless and thus he treated her like his grandmother. He wanted to succeed so that he could change her old house and give her a good life. As Evan waited at the bus stop, Nathan crept into his mind. For years now, he had secretly been in love with him. Nathan was a hugely successful businessman, the CEO of a major medical company, and one of the most eligible bachelors around at 27 years old. Evans had first met him when he was just a kid. On a camping trip, Evans had saved the teenage Nathan from drowning. When he came back with help, Nathan was already gone. For years, Evan had thought about that boy and held onto the memory. Imagine the heartbreak Evans had felt years later when Nathan showed up at his house and was introduced as Jesse's boyfriend. All the pain had remained inside him all these years, a reminder that he would never have been able to be with the one person he wanted. Today, for some reason, Evan felt this urge to see Nathan. He called up a cab to take him to his apartment and enquired about whether the latter was fine. After an hour, he reached Nathan's place. It wasn't his first time; they became good friends as Nathan saw Evan as his younger brother. They did share interests in medicine, as Nathan's company dealt with pharmaceuticals and herbal products. He punched in the access code for the apartment-Jesse's birthday, a painful reminder of his unrequited love, entered the place, and was greeted by darkness. He flicked the lights on and was taken aback by what he saw: bottles of liquor and clothes lay strewn all over the floor. Nathan would never have allowed his place to get so messy. “Where is he?" Evan mumbled to himself as his chest started to tighten with concern. He started searching the rooms until, finally, a loud crash came from the bar area. Evan quickly went over to him and found Nathan slumped on the floor, surrounded by broken glass, his hand bleeding from a fresh cut. Evan's heart skipped a beat. "Nathan, what are you doing?" he yelled, hurrying to his side.Evans woke up feeling uncomfortable as he scrunched up his face and the first thing he did was touch his throat. He could feel the pain deeply, and it was so hard to swallow. He rolled his eyes as he tried swallowing again and again, then cleared his throat, but it only seemed to worsen it. This was his first time doing this and Nathan hadn't been gentle with him at all. “Darn that bastard!” He gritted his teeth, then remembered something. He looked at the side of the bed and noticed it was empty. He puckered his lips, then caressed the space, and not feeling any warmth, he realised Nathan had probably left long ago. He pouted, then walked towards the bathroom to do his thing, as he would be having class by 11am today, and it's almost 10am, so he had to hurry up. After coming out of the bathroom, he tried putting on the cloth he had worn yesterday but he realized it's was dirty, he became speechless as he sat down on the bed with his head bowed in thinking, “Since he is the reason,
Evans sat down, and his hand trembled after he signed the paper. His eyes were still red from crying, and his cheeks had a pink, cute blush, making Nathan look at him multiple times and have the urge to bite his cheeks, but he held back as he knew he couldn’t annoy the angry little guy anymore. After he signed the contract and Nathan also penned down his, the assistant stood up and bowed to Nathan before leaving. He felt as if he had stayed for a second more, he would get burned and also feel despair. The door closed with a bang, and the room returned to silence. Then, after an uncomfortable moment, Evans stood up and turned to leave. He really wanted to go home as he still couldn’t believe all this had happened to him in a day. Everything felt like a dream to him, and he really wanted to sleep, then wake up and see if all this is real! “Where are you going?” Nathan’s voice stopped him from opening the door. He stiffened then turned around to look at the man sitting with separated
Both Evans and Nathan waited not up to an hour before they heard the sound of a car outside, and at that time, Nathan was coming out of the room after his bath, while Evans was on the apron doing the cleaning of the house and no one would have guessed that they had just had a big argument. Evans looked up after hearing the sound of Nathan's footsteps, in his hand was a rag as he cleaned up the last pieces of bottles scattered and broken on the ground. Evans remembered he was wearing an apron, ignored the look the other guy was giving him, and went back into the kitchen to drop things off. The bell rang, and Nathan went on to open the door, then walked back coldly to sit on the couch. He looked at his assistant with dark eyes and then watched him bring out his laptop. Evans, who was done with his chores, walked towards them and sat down on the other side of the couch which made Nathan raise his brow. He puckered his lips then glared at Evans coldly, but Evans only ignored him and f
“Then can you make me yours? I want to be with you!” “What?!” Nathan exclaimed in shock. He looked at Evans like he had gone crazy. His mind was blown off but he still couldn’t believe what he had heard.Evans snorted and then walked towards Nathan with his eyes fixed on his face. For once he wanted to be bold, even if its turns around to bit him back, but at least he had done his best, right? But no one knew how scared he was at the moment. His heart was beating so fast as he walked slowly toward Nathan.Standing just an inch away from Nathan, he raised his hand and traced his fingers on Nathan’s face and down to his chest then up again to his lips. Nathan though confused couldn’t help but swallow hard when Evans moved from his lips to his Adam's apple. Seeing Nathan gulp when he touched his neck, Evans became bolder and leaned down, and with his tongue out he raised his legs to reach Nathan’s height then his tongue licked his neck slowly and sexily.Nathan's heart began beating so
Evans secretly clenched his fist as he looked dazedly at Nathan. He waited for him to repeat his words with bated breath, he hoped what he had heard was a mistake, but he was still disappointed. Nathan sat up and said clearly and loudly, “Can you keep this a secret?” He then looked at Evans calmly without feeling anything was wrong with his words. Meanwhile, Evans looked at him and trembled, his heart felt the sting, then so much pain that he was tempted to hit his heart to reduce the pain. What was he expecting anyway? That this man would think of him after all of this? That he would have feelings for him after their sex? Evans suddenly chuckled, he laughed so hard that his body rocked, but his face was distorted, he looked more like he was crying instead of laughing. “A joke! Everything turns out to be a joke, Everything!” He thought that then looked up with his eyes on Nathan, then he gave him a bright smile and ignored him. With his back towards him, he walked toward the bathr
The morning sun peeked through the window and onto the two entangled bodies. Their eyes were closed as they were deeply tired from the night activity, and it could be seen on the face of the young man. Nathan was the first to awaken but stayed still as he was still in a confused state of mind. After staying like that for over 10 minutes, he started noticing the strange feeling on his body, the feeling of satisfaction. He could feel a tingling sensation on his arm, so he slowly turned his head to his right and he got the biggest shock. Doubtifully, he called out, “Evans?!” But his voice was too loud as he woke the sleeping boy up. Meanwhile, Evans looked confusedly at the man, and then it all came rushing back to his head— “He had sex with his crush!” He looked at the shocked face of Nathan and couldn't stop the guilt that overwhelmed his heart. He knew he could have stopped this from happening, but his selfishness overtook his sanity, he didn't regret it, but that doesn't mean he
