"He is so good with the pups, isn't he?" Tammie asked. It was still weird to me that they called the kids pups.

I had been watching Ethan play with the kids for a while, and I couldn't help the smile that came on my face.

"Yes, he is," I replied

"I am so happy he came. I have been trying to get him to come and see the pups, but he is always busy. Thank you," Tammie said, and I looked at her.

"For what?" I asked, confused about why she was thanking me.

"The only reason he came is because he knew you would be here. He really cares about you," Tammie said. I didn't know what to say, so I just stayed quiet. "Look, I know you are having trouble believing my son when he told you that you were his mate. I know he hasn't been the best to you. He made some bad, very bad choices.
