“What do you want from me, Burke?” Selene asked as she sat under the tree with Burke sitting next to her.

She was starting to get impatient at the way Burke kept smiling mischeviously at her.

“Calm down Selene. I’m here for a deal.” Burke replied calmly.

He adjusted his seating position on the chair as he brought out a feather. Selene’s mind flashed back to the letter she received the other day. The feather looked exactly like the one on the letter the anonymous person sent to her.

“So it was you.” Selene gruffed in anger. She noticed that some maids were looking at them and she quickly pretended as if she was good.

“You are going to draw everyone’s attention to this place. You know what will happen if anyone hears our conversation.” Burke warned.

Burke began to stroke her hair gently with his fingers.

“Get your filthy hands off me asshole. How do I explain to Darius if he sees us like this?” Selene reacted in anger.

Her eyes were completely shut as she tossed and rolled on the bed. “She is partially conscious for now. The pain is what will slowly resuscitate her until she becomes fully conscious.” The healer continued as he massaged her feet gently. “Did the poison also affect her feet?” I asked curiously as I moved slowly closer to the bed where Lily was laying down.“
