The silence was succumbing to our van. The ambience was awkward, and I just couldn’t wait to reach the mall. This is the longest minute of ride for me so far. Considering that Vance’s eyes kept on meeting mine through the rearview mirror. I’ve been wanting to tell him just to keep his eyes on the road, but I pursed my lips while squeezing my wrist, stopping myself from doing so.

I rolled my eyes when Beatriz started talking to him, asking questions about their childhood. I couldn’t fucking relate.

“I didn’t know you were coming with us to the mall’” I asked while looking at Hans.

Hans glanced at Vance before he shrugged at me. “I’m bored, so why not? I mean, you don’t mind me coming, right?”

“Oh, I don’t mind at all.” I scoffed.

I glanced at mom, and she was smiling at her phone. Perhaps she was talking to someone.

“Do you remember we used to play at the arcade inside that mall a lot?” Beatriz giggled like a child.

I badly wanted to mock her, yet I just swallowed deeply.
