KAYLA POV

The atmosphere became stuffy for me despite the natural and artificial ventilation available. What is Lucas, who is my proposed stepfather trying to do with me? Honestly, I still admire his aura and physical looks.

But this invitation might seem suspicious to me as it's in a non-business setting. Different unanswered questions flooded my thoughts, and I was visibly shaking.

"Are you alright," Hunter asked as I snapped back to the physical world.

"Am fine," I said, trying to brush my emotions off me.

He was hesitant for a while, trying to analyze my weak point, but I blocked any access to it. I closed my phone and sat back facing Hunter.

"So, how about my proposal for dinner tonight?" He asked with bright emotions.

"Am sorry, I won't be able to make it tonight. "How about some other night?" I requested, knowing fully well that I couldn't decline the invitation of my proposed stepfather and CEO.

"It's OK, but I am famished already,"

    KAYLA POV Slowly adjusting to the light intensity of twilight, I just laid down smiling for no reason. I came to realization that yesterday's night was just a pivotal moment of my life.
